Cafe Fish on the Lisburn Road, Belasft is £8 for a large fish supper (including a drink and side) which although is expensive, in terms of quantity and quality is very hard to beat.My sister went to a take away and paid £15 for 2 fish suppers, no drinks or extras. She did say the fish was tasty.0 -
I was in a chippy in East Belfast one day when someone asked for a steak & kidney pie. The person serving got the pie, took it out off the foil tray and dropped it into the hot fat.
It has been closed for ages now.Dave0 -

I know that Smyth's sells Pukka Pies but I've gone off pies. The pastry turns me.0 -

You've hit the nail on the head. A fast-food shop gets it's notoriety by it's food, but without the staff, it can't maintain that. Too often a fast-food outlet opens, with all the fanfare, and the staff aren't trained at all, they couldn't cook a decent meal or even organise a meal.
and consistancy is the problem:
far too often in a new food buisiness, the customer ends up getting items which are not what was ordered.
This is the most common reason why new fast-food businesses decline.0 -
I like chips. The price has been steadily creeping up (in East Belfast and Holywood anyways) and is about the £2.00 mark. Still maybe it has helped to stop me eating them as often! Better to eat some lettuce leaves, yum.Norn Iron Member 3830

If I went to a chippy and got a miserable piece of fish that would put me off a chippy for life. Some chippies charge £3.50 for a piece of fish but the fish is not even the size of your hand. I hate that.0
