Can we try and find the most expensive chip shop then name and shame them?
I've just checked 'FOR COD AND ULSTER' menu, prices are.....
chip £1.95
cod, chips and drink £5.75
gravy chip £2.40
they also do potato scallops £2.00
I reckon they are probably the most expensive in East Belfast but obviously Stranmillis is worse!! (thats what you get for living in the posh part of town!!):p
What a brilliant idea....a field trip in the name of research for money saving!! I think I'll go to my localist chippy tomorrow and get cod, chips and a drink and report back like a good student. I can't wait, hehe:j:j0 -

Captain Cods (Summerhill shops opposite Stormont) do scallop potatoes. Not sure of the prices but when you get their homemade scampi its a massive portion, not the 6 wee pieces you get elsewhere. Also do a nice chicken goujon like.0

Smyth's on the Woodstock Road (we are South Belfast apparently)
£1.80 for a chip
£5 for a fish supper0 -
All them prices seem to be standard across N.Ireland. Nearly £2 for a chip and £5 for a fish supper.0

The price of fish and chips are crazy now. Never mind what is happening with the portion sizes - they've completely shrunk.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0
