    I guess it comes down to what you think is worse;

    murder or theft?
I'll tell you what I think is worse.

People taking the law into their own hands to right a perceived wrongdoing. This is not how society works.

People deciding that they have some moral right to attack other people. That they feel somehow better than that person.

Those who attacked the house are pretty much the lowest of the low. Putting a brick through someone's window and running away. On any other thread we'd all be saying lock them up.

What on earth did this man Fred Goodwin do? We don;t like him? Is that reason enough? Jesus there aren't enough bricks for me to put one through every window of someone I don't like.

It's pathetic, nasty, dangerous and wrong to allow, condone or take part in this behaviour.

I think it comes down to knowing both of those are wrong.

How else do you get bad laws changed?

This isn't anarchy, it's just vandalism.

It's thick headed yobs and reactionary red top rags and their readership that equate Anarchism with smashing windows and mindless violence.

In fact it's the more totalitarian and conservative voices that have been encouraging this sort of thing.

It serves the conservative papers to dub this !!!!!! anarchism but it's a result of their mob rule agenda.

Mob rule is not anarchism, mob rule is a daily mail (among others) policy.

When society breaks down it doesn't matter how its supposed to work any more.

I don't think it's ideal and I wouldn't do it myself, but to my mind, Fred is every bit as much a law-breaker as they are - actually he's far worse, as his actions have affected millions of people and cost taxpayers millions. But he gets off scot-free. Their actions hurt no-one at all and cost the taxpayer - who knows? - a few thousand at most?

Whilst laws should be obeyed in general, there are some things that aren't clearly enshrined in law but should be, so that vigilantes aren't tempted and don't need to take the law into their own hands.

I personally have far more respect for the chap who did this than I do for 'Sir' Fred. At least this chap has principles.

And what's all this nonsense about children? No children have been hurt.

Juts watching the news tonight were the poor parents of Jimmy Mizen who was killed in a baker's shop. He was 16 and had just gone to buy a sausage roll.
His father spoke eloquently and with compassion and hoped that our angry and violent society could somehow be repaired.
It's hard to equate his hurt with the many people who have suffered financial loss at the hands of RBS.

So what law did he break?
More respect for a common thug, I admire your principles. What would you say if your home that you had bought and poured your soul into got damaged? Bet you would not respect the thugs then.
