Anarchists warn. "This is just the start"

Pah.
If they were proper anarchists they wouldn't be working in a traditional time model with a start, middle and end. Proper anarchists work in a postmodern, non-linear, anti-structure with no discernable commencement or extreme terminus.
Right, I'm off to my local Barclays with my gang to punch the girl behind the counter in the face to make a similar clumsy, pathetic and thick point. I'm calling my group 'Bank Girls Need To Be Punched In The Face For Losing Our Money'. And we're wearing costumes, just like Fathers for Justice. Gonna be ace.
I think you should think twice before you carry out such an abominable act. The bank girl is just a worker trying to do her job. There is a bit of a difference between her and Fred Goodwin. Maybe you should read up a bit about what he has done, or hasn't done. Perhaps then you will realise why there is such a strength of feeling. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Careful, now! Cleaver is one of our moderates.....0 -
Anarchists warn 'This is just the start'....
I like the headline. Clearly the anarchists are making plans, and I guess to do that they need to get organised. That means a chairman, secretary, treasurer, someone to get the biscuits for meetings. Oh and the all important Press Officer of course.
Someone will have to hire a mini bus to get them all to London safely, and for the older anarchists there will creche provision to think of. There will be a need to book time off work for the really anarchic stuff and let's hope it doesn't clash with family events - birthdays, weddings, etc.
Having smashed the cistern they can all go back to work, college, life - until the next meeting is organised.
All this stuff requires organisation and discipline otherwise it would be ......?0 -
I feel rather sorry for the anarchists really. They don't stand much chance of organising anything of great significance in today's surveillance society and with Special Branch infiltrating any meetings. Their plans are in all probability well known to the police who will organise the appropriate action to restrict what any mass action can achieve.0

I am prepared to admit that to reach the position he did Sir Fred must be a man of high talent, drive and ability.
This is true. Unfortunately, the talents and abilities in question relate to manipulating figures, sycophancy to superiors, egomania, plotting, bullying, lying and deception, rather than anything that would contribute to the good running of a company.
The upper echelons of many major firms are filled with sociopaths like Fred who have succeeded in this way. This is why it's not at all surprising that he had no compunction in looting a bankrupt firm at the taxpayer's expense.0 -

Usually very charming and persuasive individuals. They fill many positions throughout society and can do a great deal of damage before the truth becomes apparent, if at all.0 -
Brown probably does genuinely feel let down by Fred Goodwin and his ilk. They gave the banks the 'light touch' regulation that they wanted, and celebrated the likes of Goodwin with knighthoods etc. Now the actions of bankers have probably extinguished whatever slender chances Labour may have had of re-election.
But of course it is Brown's and his cronies' ignorance of economics, finance, and business, their stupidity, short-termism, and self-delusion, and their prioritising of political calculation (ie winning two elections on the back of the false, debt-ridden boom) over all else that allowed Goodwin and those like him to con them as they did.
The upper echelons of companies are indeed well populated by sociopaths, but so are the upper echelons of government.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Perhaps the News of the World can start printing pictures and addresses - "is there a banker in your street?".
Is this not the result of people watching Deal or No Deal and assuming they must therefore hate all bankers.
Except for Merve. We all love Merve. But he's a banker. Oh no. What to do?0
