Oh I see, he was a French agent acting to destroy the British Economy. Treason surely? Doesn't treason stilll carry the death penalty? Can we have a full medieval execution given the ancient status of this law? Full public drawing and quartering would surely cater for the publics lust for blood.0 -
There's not one person on this forum who wouldn't like a big fat pension, who wouldn't try to hide income from the tax man given the opportunity. Who wouldn't do exactly the same as Sir Fred.
Would you give back some money if someone asked for it, when they had no legal right? I wouldn't.
i completely disagree. i don't think immorality is universal. unfortunately those who are immoral tend to think it is (like those who have affairs who are constantly untrusting of their partners fidelity).
much of it comes from what you learn socially, parents being a big influence in our 'nuclear family' oriented society.
when i was thinking about getting a buy-to-let property a while back, do you know what my father said? "but what about all those first time buyers you are pricing out of the market?" he also disagrees with those who manipulate inheritance tax, even before the rebanding that meant my sister and myself are longer eligible.
it does annoy me when people use their offspring to mask their own selfishness, as if it's somehow okay to manifest deeply self-centred behaviour if it for you kids.
fred has family, yes. but i really don't think that makes him in any way more benevolent. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

he definitely did screw the taxpayer. had the bank gone under and not been bailed out his pension would have been a lot less substantial and i believe he would not have been allowed to take it so early. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

Could be Scottish and still acting as a French agent. Still you have added to his list of possible crimes in trying to overcome the English status quo. Is there no end to the crimes he has to answer for - as well of course being Scottish.0
