    Subscribed in February but have received nothing from them (no magazine, no gift - both for Mrs Anon) and they haven't taken payment.

  • I subscribed on 8th March and £1 taken and first issue received. When people on here were reporting that the lip kit had run out I thought I'd email and ask about mine. Here's what they said;
    Thank you for your recent email.
    Your gift is currently enroute, I would however advise you to allow up to 28 working days for receipt.
    Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

    I'll let you know if/when it turns up

    Just checked my online bank statement and 'hachete filipachi' has appeared and taken £1 from me even though I chose to cancel when they sent me the email!

    You should have cancelled the direct debit as well at your bank.
    You should do both to be on the safe side.

    Glamour emailed me to say that when I asked about my free gift with them, then 3 weeks later sent a letter to say that I wasn't getting it because they had run out.
    Everyone has a photographic memory, it's just some of them don't have film.

    I also cancelled my subscription with Elle magazine when they said that the lip kit had run out. However they still took £1 from me last week. I couldn't have canceled the DD with my bank as it didn't appear on my list of DD's until they took it. It'll be interesting to see if they send me the magazines, or whether they took £1 from me and I'll get nothing which will surely be breaking some laws. I'm not sure what to do... any advice?
  • I sent for a subscription for myself and for niece (fashion design student) and got the "no stock" e-mail but only once, cancelled but charged 2 x£1. I'm hoping that one of us still gets the free lippy, will have to wait and see.

    I too subscribed twice (one for me and one for a gift) and I also only got one cancellation email to cancel which I did. For a few weeks I kept only one DD active but then decided to cancel this DD too as I thought it was the magazine's error and it was unlikely that I would get the gift!

    Hey blue josiah - I was in the same boat. Cancelled with Elle, but no DD details to cancel with the bank - then found a £1 DD against my account. Wrote to Elle a couple of days ago and got the following cancellation confirmation where they promise to refund my account:

    "Thank you for your recent email.

    Your subscription has been cancelled as requested. Please allow up to 28 working days for receipt of your refund.

    May I take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in the magazine and should you wish to re-subscribe in the future please do not hesitate to contact me."
