Vent about MSE

I was told it was okay to have double posts,that is one person posting and another posting the same thing.If MSE was full of double posts there would be chaos and a lot of bad feeling and if its so okay why isnt it in the terms of the site.

Then there are the people who make unsubstantiated slurs on a persons character simply because they disagree with their career choice. When confronted with it they eventually realise that they were wrong to say what they said, yet they still do not have the good grace to publicly accept this or apologise for their actions. Instead they simply delete the slanderous post in an effort to deny that they ever said it. Clearly that person is ashamed of what they said and know that it was wrong, otherwise they would not have deleted it. Yet they do not the courage and strength of character to admit openly that they were wrong.

Any suggestions as to what we could do about such unsavoury characters?
