The more people you tell and ask them to tell the better, ask them to come on MSE and have a read of the parking ticket forums or the pepipoo website.

Obviously you cannot ignore council or police tickets but there times when you can overturn them and their are members on MSE who have the knowledge to help.

    Welcome aboard

Keith - any chance you'd be willing to scan and upload your letters to this thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2214803

It would help others in receipt of these letters in future see that they are part of the same scam and that ignoring is what works with these people.

If you need any help uploading please take a look here and PM me if you have any probs:

Yes remove any information that could identify you, especially the location.

If you leave the "http://" bit off the link and just post the rest (i.e. "i50.tinypic.com/a2iej64") it should be ok and not recognise as a link.
  • will go try that now! thanks.
  • I am having a similar experience with Roxburghe and Graham White Solicitors. I was given a parking ticket at 8.15pm whilst displaying my disabled badge, parked on a pavement that is usually used by visiters of the Masonic Hall, which was closed at this time. I was in a hire car at the time and the hire company Enterprise has given Roxburghe my details. I have ignored all letters up to now, but yesterday i recieved a letter from Graham White Solicitors stating that they will take me to court if i don't pay the £140 parking ticket and put £207ish pounds on for their fees and court costs.
Can anyone advise me of what to do next because i am starting to panic. Thanks

    Welcome to MSE :)

Take a look at this thread as others have had similar experiences and have eventually been left alone: PPC Letters/Threats: What to Expect

You may also wish to make a complaint about the solicitor at http://www.legalcomplaints.org.uk/

Anyone with more than a couple of days' experience in the legal field knows that for such small amounts solicitor costs can not be claimed. This solicitor appears to be acting dishonestly and being less than truthful.

And that is exactly why they couch all their letters etc in such a threatening way. The more they get their victims to worry--the more will pay up.
You'll see from other posts that all the threats are empty and there is no need to panic. Be strong and happy in the knowledge that you have deprived them of their ill gotton gains.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
