>The important thing is to be sure not to commit to anything just yet , solicitors / searches etc,
Unfortunately we have had to start instructing our mortgage people to go ahead with the first survey because we'll lose the mortgage (and possibly the house) otherwise (we've already lost two really good mortgages because we've had to wait so long!). We've delayed them for as long as possible..I just hope KHE get a move on - you're definitely not wrong when you say 'this sucks'!!0 -
when you say survey, have you done the full home buyers survey needed for this scheme?
Also this orbit company first ive heard about this was a post from today by another in the same boat, Hope it works out ok for you Amberlindsay0 -
Hi, everyone
Just to let you know, my wife phoned again today and still the same old story, we are in the pile waiting for approval, STILL. its coming up to 2 months since we put in the house we want, I'm not sure how much longer our seller will wait. why they only have one person doing the approvals is beyond me.

Yep, that's the one we've been told we have to get - we've delayed sending the signed letter off to instruct them to start though - in the hope that we hear from KHE by the end of the week (my inner voice is now laughing (and crying) at the thought of them getting back to me by the end of the day tomorrow...I'm becoming quite the cynic as a result of this process!) ;-)

Thanks - you too!0 -
I read that Orbit First Step has taken over as the Homebuy Agent for Bedfordshire (and Cambs) since the 1st April 09, so it is no longer KHE. But KHE will continue to administer your application. Perhaps the fact that KHE lost out on the tender to continue as the homebuy agents is because of the excellent service they have provided us all with so far!!!0

The letter i received today,
Mychocehomebuy case *****
Due to the very high demand for the mychoice home buy scheme we have a significant backlog of funding applications.
In order to clear the backlog we have temporarily suspended the processing of new cases and therefore returning those received in this office after April 14th , Your application was received after this date and therefore your documentiation has been returned to your FA.
We will contact you again when we are in a position to accept new cases.
Regards
Keyhomes east.
No mention of when or if..
What a waste of time, never mind if you have an offer on a property which is the requirement for sending in these applications. What do you tell the vendors etc.
Well ive had enough of this scheme, gona try doing it on my own "Try" "Try" i will ....;)0 -
Morning all
Just reading through the posts a couple of questions have appeared to need clarification so I'll do what I can.
1. Orbit First Step now take care of the application process in the areas previously covered by KHE. They will then pass the details to KHE if you have ticked "Mychoice Homebuy" on the top of page one of the applicatiob.
2. Keyhomes East are still taking care of the allocation procedure, and will start accepting new requests once they have caught up with the back-log.
3. If an allocation request is sent in to KHE that doesn't have all the information they require then they will write out and ask for it. Unfortunately this can cause quite long delays because, with the best will in the world, when you send that info in there's a chance it ends up at the bottom of the pile again. (though KHE do try to avoid this).
There's still no update with regard to when they will open up allocation requests again but I am in a meeting with Orbit on Wednesday so maybe they can shed soe light on the situation for me. I will of course report back here with anything of note.
Good luck all and keep your spirits up!!
Cheers

Hi All,
Just thought I would add my views, we had an offer made on our property on 12 March 2009, and started to look for new a new property based on the original information given to us that everything would be in place in a couple of weeks, we even entered a contract race (paid survey fees etc and lost race...... bit of a gamble admittedly) based on this information, 6/7 weeks later our purchasers have still not had the letter saying that our property is okay and go ahead with the survey, my concern then arises about how long it takes from KHE getting the survey to saying yes you can proceed to purchase the property. I have today submitted this information to Watchdog and advise you all do the same. Maybe if they investigate this story about the great schemes to kickstart the housing market, we may all start to see results.... Glad I got that off my chest :-)0 -
We're still waiting for KHE to allocate funding to us (we've been waiting 8 weeks) and it looks like our house purchase will fall through as we cannot give any indication of timescales. Our main concern is that any offers we make on property will not be considered seriously by sellers, especially if they know we are going through this scheme with keyhomes east.0
