I used them in March and had no problems, so recommended them to my family and friends
However ,I sent my iPhone to them last Wednesday (23rd) by Special Delivery (and have a copy of the signature that signed for the package on Thurs 24th) but fonebank are still saying they haven't received it, and the order status still shows as "Pending"
I've e-mailed them twice since Saturday ,but have had no reply from them....starting to get a bit worried now...0 -
Fonebank were excellent. 2nd highest price (the best price had shocking reviews of rip offs) Posted using printed off label. Just stuck phone in the post as it wasnt worth the effort due to value to take to the post office. Quick reciept of phone and cheque for full amount sent all done and dusted in 4 days. Totally recommend.0

Got offered £28 for my Samsung Galaxy Ace (a couple of tiny dings/the slightest mark on the screen, and it's a pants phone anyway). Sent it off with the prepaid label on the 5th, confirmation on the 9th, full amount in my account on the 11th
It wasn't the highest amount (MobileCashMate were offering ~£40, O2 £19.50) but hedged my bets somewhere in the middle and glad I did.

Faultless service from fonebank after bad experience with RPC.
Sent it using their prepaid label for free (bit of a risk as only insured to £50 and the phone was valued at £92)
Posted on Friday 20th December-email received on Monday 23rd to say full amount paid.
RPC downgraded the phone (Iphone 4 16gb) from £100 to 0 as I forgot to take passcode off (doh!) but more annoyingly saying it had deep scratches!! charged me £3 to send it back and I'd paid £7 to send it!
(I know it was my mistake to not take the passcode of-but they could have asked for it-would have only taken a second!)0 -
Best offer on the list for my iPad 2. Printed off the label, sent it special delivery (worth it for peace of mind). Fonebank received it next day and immediately sent full amount by BACS; money cleared within 48 hours. Excellent service.0

Based on the reviews on here I posted my iPhone 4S using the freepost label and hoped to receive my £140. This was a month ago and sadly Royal Mail have "lost" (STOLEN) my phone. The company seem alright but DO NOT USE THE FREEPOST LABEL. Phones are only insured up to £50 using this
The only issue I have with the company itself is that they do not reply to their emails! This is really poor customer service. Also, when I ring, it takes about 100 rings before someone picks up. I've just rang and requested the £50 and have been told my request needs to be passed on to a manager and may take a few days. I hope it doesn't end up being terribly difficult to get my money.0 -
I have never posted on here, but I thought it was absolutely worthwhile as it took me a long time trawling the internet to decide whether to use Fonebank for my iPhone. Put simply, I can't recommend this service enough. If I had put my phone on eBay, I could have gotten much less for much more hassle (bearing in mind that I would need to sell for around £22 more than the recycle amount to account for eBay's 10% commission).
I sent my 16gb iPhone 5 on Monday by special delivery. The phone was in average condition – a few scratches on the screen etc. It's taken a couple of unexpected swims aswell, though the indicators on the phone never changed colour as far as I could tell, thank goodness.
I got a confirmation email on Tuesday saying that they had received the phone and the £210 (exactly what was quoted, and £30 more than any other site) had been paid into my account by BACS and would show up in 2 days. 2 days later, the money is there. Can't argue with that!0 -
I used Fonebank for the second time for a Galaxy S3 and Blackberry 9320 - got a good price quoted, sent them both second class last Monday, email confirmation on Thursday and money in the bank, exactly as quoted, today, plus Quidco cashback on top. Excellent and far less hassle than eBay, where I might have got a few quid more, but after eBay and PayPal commission it's extremely unlikely I would have done any better.
Edit: Incidentally, Fonebank isn't appearing in the mobile phone valuer results on this site for the two phones I have just sold, despite paying more than most of those that are. Has it been removed?2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -
Posted phone Friday, Confirmation of Acceptance Monday, Confirmation cheque sent Tuesday, Received cheque Wednesday. Once again great service. Not quite the highest price on mobilevaluer, but on going to website and adding phone details discovered I could get £20 extra as phone was unlocked, which was easily the best offer.0
