    Hello folks

Just to follow up on what happened - so I had an email which moved the date by which I had to send my phone. I contacted them and they got back very quickly and were very contrite. I ended up sending the phone by next day delivery as I left it a bit late and the next day I had an email warning me that my phone wasn't in good enough condition and that they would email me the price. Almost straight away I had another email stating that the price had gone from £175 to £145 which was fine as it was genuinely damaged and I knew that. It is still more than I would've got if I'd have got full price at the newly adjusted amounts. They paid me very quickly.

I would recommend this company as they were honest, quick to respond and though they could've "done me over" they chose not to. I have dealt with them in the past and had no problems.

Why is Fonebank not showing on the MSE comparison tool? For example, HTC Wildfire, top payer (excluding CeX) is shown as MobileCashMate, £21. Yet go to fonebank.com and it quotes £30.

Used Fonebank for the 1st time and have to say impressed. They paid £20 extra for having an unlocked phone which I got done for nothing by Vodafone as I had upgraded. Posted yesterday and got e-mail today saying they'll be paying the amount I got quoted via BACS. Will definitely use again

  • I have used Fonebank 5 times (Just printed out slip for 6th!) and they have been spot on each time. The first couple of times, they sent cheques but now they send it straight via BACS.

Going via £co brings a couple of extra pounds too - although they haven't always paid the most I would rather go with them for reliability.

Sold my old non-working Nokia smartphone a few weeks ago and got £16 within days paid straight into my bank account. Excellent price and excellent service, highly recommended :)

  • Highly recommend Fonebank - not the top price but still good. Prompt service. Originally they said my handset was not working - I disputed, they rechecked and confirmed i was correct. Paid full amount of original quote. Definately will use again.

I sent a phone here to check them out. All I have is an email asking if I'd posted it yet.

I handed the package to the post office clerk so I know it was sent. All I can assume is that they have scammed me.

If you chose to use phone bank then you will need to pay for tracking.

Never had this problem with any other company.

    RESOLVED!
Today, nearly 2 weeks after posting, I received notice that they have the phone and will pay the quoted amount.

It seems that their internal processing was just very slow in my case.

I am however still not happy with the time and service so doubt I will use again.
  • I used fonebank because they offered a good price on my blackberry, I asked the post office to take my packet rather than leave at the side and fonebank, claimed they didnt receive my phone. because I used freepost so way to track phone. Not Happy :(
