Sun Token Codes for Jan '10 issue are in this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2172927
  • Hi All,

I know i'm the millionth person to ask and therefore my chances are extremely slim but does anyone have a spare ref code for the online booking. I have sent one form off with all my tokens but now my friend wants to go too and I cant amend my original booking so am trying to book again using the codes from my tokens but of course I dont have a code so if anyone has one they dont need I would be very grateful for it.

    Many Thanks

    Laura xx

  • We booked back in January to go to a Eurocamp campsite in France
It has taken until today and several emails and phonecalls to get my booking confirmation from Eurocamp.
Today I received an extra bill from Eurocamp for £104.50 which we were not aware that we had to pay.
I realise that it is still a great deal however on the confirmation it says basic £120 however the sun have only put a credit of £76.00 towards this hence us paying more but we actually paid the sun £120 which was £15.00 x 2 (for a week) x 4 so that is obviously how the sun make their money on this promotion.
I have just noticed in the booking confirmation another fact sheet saying that we have to also now pay a supplement of £11.00 per person per trip so therefore making up the suns payment.
Like I said I know we have got a good deal but when you have budgeted for something this comes quite out of the blue and we have been given a whole 7 days to pay or else the booking is cancelled and we lose all of our money, so our Bargain sun £15.00 holiday for four that should have cost us £60.00 plus £100 for the ferry is now costing us nearly double at £328.50!

Has anyone else had this experience?

We always go to France with the SUN holidays, and always find it a huge bargain ( we only go in school hols)
Never been for a week though ,either Mon - Fri or Fri - Mon paying £60 for the 4 of us,£6 service charge per night then £15 insurance waiver and that's it!

    what's the £11 per person for ? I don't get their sums ?!
  • I recently booked a so called "bargain" Sun Holiday to receive an invoice for over £50 more than it would of been if I booked direct i.e. £176 instead of £126. I have phoned the site in question i.e. Minehead and discussed this matter but they couldnt care less really, so I've cancelled my holiday and lost my desposit of £60 but I'd rather do that than be further ripped off on what was suppose to be a "cheap" weekend away. I also phoned the number provided by the Sun Newspaper to find out it no longer exists. This all scheme seems a bit of a scam and ripping off families who might not have access to the internet. Shame on the Sun!!!

another person who didn't do their homework / read all the info first!

you only have yourself to blame!

ALWAYS check to see how much it would be to book direct ( by telephone / brochure if you don't have internet access! ) as often if you want to go during term time,it will be cheaper to book direct rather than go with the SUN

but school holidays will always be cheaper with the SUN

also check how much the extras are eg entertainments passes and service charge

of course you need to add this onto the base price of £9.50 / £15 per person ( linen and entertainments passes, you don't HAVE to take if you don't want to )

I am glad some people are being put off by these "rip off" holidays, more chance of the rest of us to book what we want, those of us who read all the info ( in the paper aswell as online,so no excuse) :D:D:D
