MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Would you flog hideous store cards to keep a job?

Yes I would! if people don't want it they don't have to take it!however I would make sure I was selling PPI properly as it sucks when you get suckered into that one!0

I would too. I wouldn't be delighted about it but it's not my job to be someone else's nanny. I'm there to work, not to save them from themselves.Herman - MP for all!0

I'd do it if I had to but I'd be looking like mad for another job and leave as soon as I could (if I didn't get sacked for my unenthusiastic approach to selling the cards!)0

ok so i sell these store cards i have to it's my job, if i dont then i get pulled up, taken into the office, asked why etc etc. however if i do sell them do i get loads of commission ? NO do i get anything ? NO ! people have this false idea that we all work on commission and get paid lots for it unfortunately this is not the case. store cards are fine IF you can play them. by that i mean getting the introductory discount and paying the bill off in full, keeping the card for the exclusive card holders days and again paying it off in full. i know there are some slimy sales people out there but we aren't all like that most of us are just trying to keep our heads down and get on with the job, under immense pressure from management and companies. so yes i am selling store cards and have done so for 8 years now. it pays the bills and help keeps me in a job in these difficult times.0

If the store manager's grammar was a bit better I might think about it.Overpay!0

I would never work in a clothing store full stop. But I would also never encourage uninformed people to create debts which they may never honour. That's one of the main reasons we have a financial crisis which is impacting upon us all.0

I'd sell them - you need to live.
But you can also tell them if they pay them off every month then there is no charges:T0 -
Yes, sell the store card. Think of it as providing the customer with an additional service (ignoring APR's etc). Most important is that selling is done in a friendly, not pushing manner.0
