no problem - you probably linked to a forum post - the site address had to change, due to reasons I don't want to go into - and I redirected it from the old to the new - if you bypassed the front forum page it wouldn't redirect.

    Please accept my apologies.

I have not yet requested my statements but I am fuming, or i would be if i had the energy LOL
Natwest refunded one charge and told me 'not to tell anyone about it' !!!!!! is that all about.

So 'ner ner ne ner ner' to you splat west I have just told loads of people.

Then they charged me for being overdrawn when I was not, TWICE! They said they would refund the charges after being on the phone for ages on Friday talking to an incompetent advisor who was trying to do a credit check without my consent.
AAARGH. I have had little trouble with them until very recently, i just want to change banks now:(

Hooray! Thanks to this site I've just reclaimed £38 from Natwest just by calling them and demanding a refund......otherwise I wouldn't have known!

I think it would have been a bit more difficult to do on the phone if I'd have had more than one though.

With Martin's help (and the support of others on the Bank Action Group's site) I have received a full refund from HSBC of my bank charges - £85.74. :j

Using the link on Martin's Bank Charges Page, I visited the Bank Action Group. Once I had spent a few hours reading through the advice and templates, I wrote my first letter and hand delivered it to my branch.

Initially, they offered me £50 to settle the matter but I stuck to my guns and demanded the full amount - today they have offered to settle!!!

I know it's not a massive amount to some, but it is to me - and anyway, it's my money and it is the principle that counts too.

    Thanks again to Martin :T

Wrote to the Clydesdale after being charged £35 for going over my limit.
I also asked for a list of charges over the last six years to be provided.
    Heres the reply

"You have also requested a note of all overdraft fees that have been applied to your account over the last six years. I am required to order a reprint of your monthly statements for the last six years and the standard fee for this is £5 per statement"

Phoned them up to confirm that they wanted to charge me £360 was assred that this was the case.
Pointed out Data protection act 1998, was phoned back with, yes we will supply for £10 anything from July 2005 onwards prior to that £5 a statement.

Spoke with the information commissioners office, have been advised to write to them again formally requesting this information under the data protection act, have advised them of this and the need for a reply to enable me to file a complaint against them.
Hows that for customer service, any suggestions?

There is a letter template for a Data Protection Disclosure Request in the libary of https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk .You also need to ask for any manual intervention notes. This will cost you no more then £10 .If after 40 days they have not sent them report them again to the information commissioner.
