What about salads, cold meats etc?Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

I think pot noodle is a good standby, like when camping. Pot porridge was in our local pound shop. Cous could can work with cold cooked meat like chicken or even tinned spam. The odd burger and chips or fish and chips or kebab are also good value. If he is allowed a microwave then ready meals would be an option. Wetherspoons is usually cheap, but that's all microwaved anyway. A bag of Apples would be fine without a fridge. I wouldn't risk getting thrown out but I have often smelt neighbours cooking at travelodge without any problems that I have been aware of.0

I very much doubt he will be allowed a fridge, microwave or rice cooker due to fire safety.
If the room has a kettle there are a lot of meals you can make with just boiling water, he could buy cereal and use UHT milk, or make porridge with boiled water for his breakfast. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Mug shots are more substantial than normal cup a soups http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/shopping/findproducts.aspx?query=mug%20shots&store=Sainsburys
Couscous is also easy to make with just a kettle and flavoured ones make a passable meal with a dollop of houmous or some cold meat.
Personally I would go for dead cheap meals like the above a few nights a week, then eat out cheaply (chip shop/ supermarket cafe/ Ikea) a couple of nights a week to make it a bit less monotonous.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Personally I am concerned my hairdryer sets off hotel fire alarms nevermind taking cooking equiptment! I would eat out of supermarkets, a late dinner probably would mean discounted sandwiches, hot food. Sainsburys do hot pizza. As people have said fill up on breakfast & lunch and make do at dinner, for that length of time he'll probably meet people and be invited for dinner a few times. As a student I ate out most nights and earned very little, there are cheap places out there to eat if you look around. Pot noodles/rice cant be that bad if hes fed well at other meal times. Claiming tax back is worthwhile if he does eat out.0

Well thanks for all comments, thankfully theyve got back to him and said so long as the microwaves been safety tested (whatever that tests called) he can have it so that will help. He wont be cooking nasty smelly things, just enough to get by without buying too much out everyday (which for those who said it wouldnt cost to much buying everyday I must object to, 7wks buying food?!).
We are getting no money at all towards the funding until after the time, and even then we dont know how much we can claim back, needless to say we'll be keeping all receipts and records just incase.
I'm just looking into some easy things he can chuck in now to make him a little food parcel and healthy(ish) snacks for nibbling0 -
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
