Meatballs for me too. In a nice tomato sauce served with pasta with grated parmesan cheese on top.

If they are of the "raw meat" variety, you could just defrost them and shape them into smaller burgers again.

    Or meatballs.

Or just use as mince in some way... maybe a cheesy potato topped pie.

I usually use them in kebab style pittas with salad (and homemade chips sometimes) The burgers you found will be brilliant for this. I find two burgers will easily feed 4 people. My recipe is to cook the burgers, allow them to cool slightly, cut them up into bite size peices. Prepare some lettuice, rocket, plum tomatoes, cucumber and onion. Season with olive oil and balsamic. Heat the pitta, slice in half, add the salad, then a few chunks of the burgers, top with a dressing or lemon juice.

To make homemade chips heat an over to 200C. Lightly oil a baking tray. Cut the potatoes into chips, place on the tray, drizzle a little olive oil over them. Add salt, pepper, dried chili flakes... anything to make them a little special! Give them 15-20 mins.

Thanks for all the ideas - meatballs definitely seem a popular choice and I'll try them in future :) This time I think I'll go for the kebab style pittas ... it's really the kind of thing my dad likes!

I bought some reduced frozen beefburgers the other day - don't normally buy them but they were stupidly cheap so thought why not!

However we don't really fancy having beefburgers in a bun all the time, so can anyone suggest any alternative uses for them? I was thinking maybe chopping them up and putting them in something but I can't think of what...

    Thanks :D

i have made kebabs with them , fry them as usual , then stick them in a pitta bread with all the salad and chili sauce you normally get with a donner
my favourite food is spare ribs
  • Break them up & re-mould them into meatballs, then you can bake them in the oven & have with pasta & tomato sauce.

Or just break them and use like mince, in a chilli or bolognese sauce.

I have cut them up and used them in a spag bol and a chili.

They weren't as good as the real thing but it saved chucking them and they did make a filling meal.
  • re shape into individual meat loaves

i dont know whats in beefburgers:osorry

but when i make them i use minced beef, onion, little thyme, black pepper, an egg and breadcrumbs

make a handfull into a wee mini loaf
and top with either ketchup, BBQ sauce, whatever you like, nice thick layer
and bang em in the oven
