I think I just hit the 'run' function......it done everything itself and put a logo in the address bar, then all I did was indicate I wanted to make it a secure site0 -

Thank you, I'll get that done today0 -
.....aand to add to this, I just switched on skype and I see that Rapport has blocked it from "capturing sensitive data".....not sure what it would be capturing but skype users beware0

the only netclient.exe files are one which is the company VPN and another which is Windows 'Prefetch' pf file
seems like the company are trying to collect screen shots of everything0 -
Care to explain what that means please?0

a sandbox prevents unwanted software like key loggers from running. In the event of something already being present in your system the effect of it is prevented as they cant write to disk.
sandbox plus Rapport plus a firewall = pretty good security for banking0 -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I was just looking for more info on how Rapport works, however I read the 'sandbox' explanation and had to comment...
The program 'sandboxie' is a virtual sandbox, not a real one.
A true 'sandbox' is a operating system that is reset to a pre-saved state after each use.
The easiest way to achieve this is to use Microsoft Virtual PC and create a virtual computer and then turn on undo disks.
When you shut down the virtual computer you will get the choice of saving the changes made during that session, by saying 'no' to saving changes you will be discarding any changes made by malware or viruses that you may have picked up during browsing and the virtual computer will be back to the safe and clean state it was in before you started it up. (i.e: you have shaken the sandbox and cleared all changes made)
If you only use a particular session for your banking then the chances of it being infected by using any compromised sites are massively reduced, greatly improving your chances of not having any of your personal details captured.
Sandboxie and other similar software emulates this but it still runs on your normal PC and therefore the chances of it being as successful as a true sandbox machine are greatly reduced.
Virtual PC is a free download from Microsoft.0 -
Virtual PC is a free download from Microsoft.
Sandboxie is a very good solution (especially with kids) but is not a secure environment as such, i.e. if you navigate to a dodgy website and malware is downloaded for that session you are exposed.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
