Hi Masonic, very interested, looking into it , read articles. Do you download slax direct to cd? or hard drive.then transfer.I would be prepared to take the time to do this system than what I have been through.IB only,is cd preferable to stick?
You can download the CD image as an iso file and burn that to CD. I wouldn't recommend using a USB stick because the whole point is to make it read only. I have seen some USB sticks with a 'write protect' switch on the side - I guess you could use one of these, but a CD that's properly finalised is not going to get anything else written to it no matter what.

Is there any router or isp problems, wirelsess , or is it a straight forward download and play, with a fewtweaks in between? I know it won,t alter the problems Ive had with banks, also, would it eliminate need for Rapport? Or could that still be left on.gonnado it today, any do,s or don,ts that would be appreciated, like module for IB , or is it already for that without any other modules? Cheers

If you are using a router to connect to the internet, then it should just work with nothing to configure because all of your settings will be stored on the router. If you aren't using your main system to do internet banking anymore, then no, there isn't any need for Rapport.

For the live CD, a web browser is all you really need for internet banking, and the standard download comes with Firefox on it. In the interests of keeping it simple to begin with, I wouldn't worry about modules for now.

When you turn on your machine with the CD in the drive it should boot from it automatically. If it doesn't you will have to either go into the bios and change the boot order so that the CD drive is before the hard disk, or you may be able to choose the CD drive using the 'Boot Menu' if you get that option at startup.

That file is part of Cyberlink Power2Go CD burning software. If you want an alternative program to use, try CDBurnerXP. Newer versions of windows can burn iso images without any extra software, try right-clicking and looking at the 'Open with' choices.

Now you see why the banks might be reluctant to recommend doing this ;)

Didn,t boot up from cd, usual boot up sequence, everthing on as normal. Went into bios by pressing F2, couldn,t see boot at all, not familiar with bios so wary of what I did, just exited, no changes.I could here cd drive whiring on boot, but just normal boot.maybe burning wasn,t successful?

There is a good guide to setting up boot options for common BIOSs here.
