The first thing I do is login to HSBC, then this site immediately afterwards. But, IE, for whatever reason stops responding, I was blaming Rapport, it,s only happened since installing it.But after today, I am confused, apart from uninstalling it, thats the only thing I haven,t done yet.Rather confused now.PC is clear of virus,s etc.Any ideas?
Try this again with Rapport completely uninstalled. If you still have a problem, then you can eliminate Rapport as the (sole) cause and reinstall it.

The other suspect could be Microsoft Security Essentials. On the first machine I ever installed MSE on, I had serious problems with it and high CPU usage after doing certain things. You could check for this on your machine by keeping a task manager window open on the 'Processes' tab and keeping an eye on MsMpEng.exe (you may need to show processes from all users to see it).

Will do,Thought I would give it one more try before uninstalling, lo and behold, no problems logging in using onscreen keyboard, or freezing on me when going to another site. Wierd::It could be a conflict of MSE and Rapport as you say.I,ll remove Rapport and see how it goes. thanks again to both of you

Hi, Just uninstalled Rapport. Still got the problem of IE not responding after Using HSBC.Had to shut down with main botton, task manager wouldn,t:Wonder whether to go back to AVG9 withRapport. If it,s MSE, how come it,s only happening now, after Rapport? Prior to Rapport I always logged into HSBC with AOL browser, but that didn,t support Rapport.Hence using IE.It proves Rapport is not at fault, unless it,s still lurking in the registry playing havock.

It sounds like the problem could have been there for a long time and you just didn't notice it because you weren't using IE. Other than Rapport, do you have any toolbars installed in IE? If so, it might be worth disabling/uninstalling these to see if the problem goes away. You might also want to consider installing and using Firefox to see if that solves your problems.

Hi, First thing I did was re-instal Rapport, then downloadedFirefox.Tried it out, ok at present. However ,as the problem always seems to occur when I log on first thing in the morning, I will know better tomorrow. When the problem has occurred before, after shutting down and rebooting the problem doesn,t occur again till next day;login and out of HSBC at will, no problem, next day, as soon as I have been into HSBC, it freezes, not other sites, just that one? No other toolbars on IE except default ones. I,ll see how firefox does, cheers.

The Command bar, Menu bar, etc are usually switched off by a right click on a bare area (say just to the right of the New Tab area). Unless you also disabled the toolbars from the Add-Ons in which case go Tools>Manage Add-Ons. Enable and re-enable from there.
