    There has been no change as far as transactions within the VISA Europe sphere of operations is concerned - see http://www.nationwide.co.uk/current_account/foreigntransactions.htm

    I downloaded Rapport Trusteer at the recommendation of HSBC. When I experienced problems I decided to remove it via the 'Add or remove programs' list. This is a feedback message I left on their site:

    When I uninstalled Rapport I was treated to a message asking if I was uninstalling because the computer had slowed down or because I was having trouble connecting to the internet. This implies that these problems are known and comparatively frequent. I reject your offer to correct these problems free of charge for the simple reason that you should have warned of these potential problems PRIOR to my having installed the program. It was only by a process of elimination that I found Rapport to be the culprit, which is not only annoying but, after two hours of fiddling with the computer and modem, downright irresponsible. You're statement above ( a statement on their link admitting that users may experience these kind of problems) also implies an unacceptable level of similar complaints. As a matter of interest I use no exotic or unusual software -Windows XP, Internet Explorer, Word and Avast antivirus none of which are rare or unheard of. (Unusual software already installed on your computer was suggested as a possible reason for these issues) Please keep your program. I want nothing more to do with it.

    I don't object to the fact that this software failed to mesh with my PC, but I do feel strongly that these possible issues and how to resolve them should have been pointed out before this unwitting PC user decided to install. As it was, only the facts that my printer hung up, the internet became inaccessible and my PC began to work at a snail's pace indicated that something was wrong. If I hadn't guessed that it was the fault of Rapport I would still be trying to resolve these problems now.

    I had a similar issue - after installing Rapport the only way I could connect to the Internet was to turn if off, then turn in back on once a session had been established. When I deinstalled I was contacted by Rapport offering to try to resolve the issue - but they asked me to send a whole host of log files that were encrypted, so I couldn't see what was being sent - and given the scope of this application I wasn't prepared to do that, as my security information might have been in those logs.

    When I had problems with Rapport (which is earlier in this thread I think) I was asked to send a load of log files, which I did. I was then invited to a live web conference session where I could demonstrate the problems in real time. I declined and asked for uninstall instructions. I now have Rapport on again and I did use their live chat to ask a question. However, the computer is doing a few wierd things. Not got a handle on it yet as I'm not sure if it is something else.

    Hi, I think I may have spoke too soon. mMy comp is playing silly beggars, I think,in fact, I,m sure it,s down to Rapport.When I put it onlast week, after logging into HSBC, successfully, IE ceased to respond ,couldn,t even get task manager up.Shut it down by on/off button.Sent log to Rapport, MS said DEP was the problem, Rapport said they had no idea what that was, and denied it was their software.Same thing again yesterday, and just now, got task manager up but wouldn,t respond to end task. Button job again. This surely cannot be coincidence? I am persevereing, but getting annoyed now;Does rapport log all traffic to their secure sites? and my IP address? in case someone did hack io my Account? just curious.I haven,t used the switch on/off facility as it boots up and works ok after first hang up.

    PS. I notice each time I log on to asecure site, rapport asksif I want them to monitor my password, yes/no/password. I always answer yes, as informed by live chat to them. Is this wise?
  • If people are thinking of uninstalling Rapport, can I recommend that you use something like Revo Uninstaller rather than the standard Windows Control Panel install/uninstall?

    After Revo had used the standard un-install it then deep searched for remaining traces of the software. There was quite a lot identified and I took the option to delete them all. Fingers crossed, my machine has returned to normal.

    Two things...

    Revo Un-installer is free,

    I don't think that it can search for remains of an application if you have already un-installed it. Although I suspect an install and then un-install may work OK.

    NB. I have NO connection with Revo and if it toasts your PC please speak to them not me!
  • Rapport fails the screenshot 2 test on this anti key logging test http://www.spychecker.com/program/antikeyloggertester.html and also fails against many other screen shot programs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w99FVL4UcPM

    It,s failed me again today, swiched it off. ThinkI,ll remove it, it,s more trouble than it,s worth. it just leaves me in limbo after coming off HSBC.Have to shut comp down using button, it even stops task manager.We will see if it removes as well as they say, doubt it;
