Hi Joe,
Keylogging protection is one of the many protections Rapport provides. Actually most financial malware don’t use traditional keylogging techniques but rather go into the browser and log keystrokes from there. This is covered by other protections in the product which are still switched on.
Keystroke protection is tricky in terms of compatibility. A few antivirus solutions have similar capabilities and when two of them try to work together this could cause keystrokes to behave unexpectedly and in some scenarios the keyboard could freeze. We have mechanisms in place to identify this and automatically mitigate it and we’re actively investigating why in your case it didn’t kick in.

Sounds as though you are using XP, for other versions of Windows it may be slightly different, e.g. for Vista, it's Accessories> Ease of Access>On-Screen Keyboard.0

I don't know about Vista, but on XP, you get the on screen keyboard onto your desktop, open up your internet banking log-in site, and position the mouse on the login password, and then click the keys on the keyboard with the mouse. This should transfer the "clicks" from the "keyboard" to the login.0

I am typing this post using the on-screen keyboard in Vista, on a laptop - don't know why yours doesn't function properly.0

I wouldn't bother using the windows on-screen keyboard to try and defeat keyloggers. It's only really of use when there is a physical keylogging device attached to the keyboard of the computer. A software keylogger (which is the only type you're likely to encounter at home) will still be able to intercept the characters as they are sent from the on-screen keyboard to the browser. There is some discussion on this topic at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystroke_logging#On-screen_keyboards.0

Hi, Masonic, thanks for that info.I am baffled nowwith this rapport. as I stated in my previous posts, i have blamed rapport for my problems, however, by process of elimination, today, wih Rapport switched off, the same trouble occurred, but I could get into Task manager this time to end task, something I was unable to do with Rapport on.The first thing I do is login to HSBC, then this site immediately afterwards. But, IE, for whatever reason stops responding, I was blaming Rapport, it,s only happened since installing it.But after today, I am confused, apart from uninstalling it, thats the only thing I haven,t done yet.Rather confused now.PC is clear of virus,s etc.Any ideas?0
