There are some good suggestions here. I think the best one is to just sell it on ebay. My ipod broke and I was distraught (use it everyday) and i sold it on ebay. Only got £50 for it but better than nothing. I had previously tried to repair it without luck. The biggest problem with repairing things is that once you try to do it you better get it right.

Once you have sold it put the money towards another one. My son has all these silly handheld consoles (PSP, DS, Ipod) and quite frankly he loves em. He would be upset is his DS got broken too cos though he plays it once in a blue moon when he does play it he really plays it.

Maybe there is some service you could perform, something you are good at to raise the extra cash? Put your thinking cap on.

Just wanted to edit my post and say that to the person who said its may be a good thing that it is broken...we all look after our children the way we see fit. This isn't really the place for parental advice especially when we do not know the op's circumstances or his home life.
  • dnt go to cash converters they dont take broken items and when i went to sell my working ds lite they offer a measly 25 quid. so not worth it i have sold one before on ebay as spares or repairs (as my 5yr old daughter broke hers) but it was the ds lite got 40 quid for it tho. which we used to raise funds for a new one. our local cash converters sell ds lite for 89.99! rip off but always remember u can knock them down i went to get my sister one got him down to 65 quid and got him to throw in a game aswell!

    Hi there,
I can't help you out with a Nintendo DS I'm afraid, but i do have an old sony Playstation 1 Console you can have if you'd be willing to pay P&P. It's in full working order with a controller.
No games, but i know you can pick them up cheaply at boot fairs or auction sites.
Let me know if you are interested.

well there ya go!! And if you do take this I can also offer a dancemat with the game for the ps1 and a memory card, again you just pay for the p&p, pm me if interested x
