A Nintendo DS/DS Lite for free?

My son had an original DS, but it is broken :mad: . He is hearbroken, and I cannot afford to go buy him a new one

Bowling_4_Gold - thanks. I haven't heard of gum tree before !!!

zenseeker - no, its not in its warranty, unfortunately He has had it ages. The hinge for the top screen is broken, so its only held on on one side, and one of the pins inside (where the games go) is bent, so they dont work.

Nigella - thought of that one, but he plays the games he's got. Or he did do, when he could !!!!

hartcjhart - am already a member of our local freecycle, and have posted a "wanted", but had no reply

Trouble is, even without games these things sell for around £75 second hand, so you would be very lucky to find someone willing to part with one for free.

could you try an exchange site swap with something no longer used?
-or try to raise some funds using a cash converter shop...then buy a used one?
