i do hope someone can give you one...fingers crossed for you.
you could ask nintendo if they have a repair service.(or search for repairs elsewhere that might be cheaper)
i would grovel a bit to nintendo and see where that gets you....you never know they might.....nothing to lose!

I believe nintendo do offer a repair service, depending on the nature of the fault, they are usually quite good with faults....so email/call and give them a try, is worth a shot!
Wins for 2022: Hydratem8 Water bottle, diary, flowers, Good food show tickets, childrens books x3,
Thanks to all who post the comps & please let the comping fairy sprinkle dust on my entries!

In all honesty the only place you're going to get one from is one of those spam pyramid sites, but exceem may be able to help you out.
As far as I can see before I hastily backed out holding onto my personal details for dear life, they swap refferal links.
Dodgy buisness, and someone always gets hurt, but there is no such thing as a free lunch.
At least your kid will have learnt this I guess.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

thanks for the replies. I don't like the pyramid sites. I steer well clear of them!

If by any chance you need a new mobile phone contract, you can get things such as a DS for free with the phone and contract. I used mobiles.co.uk and got a free phone, loads of minutes and texts on an 18 month contract for £35 a month on o2, plus a free PS3 and game. Obviously you pay a bit more for the contract than you could get elsewhere, but you get a DS etc at no extra charge. Unlike a lot of places they send out the free gift with the phone, so you'd get it the next day.
Anyway, you may not even need a new contract, but it's well worth doing when you do!

If you have any spare time you could pop on the comps forum and enter comp for Ds's (there's usually loads). Better idea than a pyramid scheme.

Or browse ebay for cheap ones.

    Good luck to you

I think you are unlikely to get one for free, but how about setting yourself a challenge to sell things on ebay to get to earn the value of a new DS? Your son could choose old toys to put on etc and you could sell off his old clothes if you have any.

    HTH, and good luck!

My niece had one which broke at the hinge. Nintnedo wanted £55 to fix it:eek:.

I got my son a new one at xmas from argos. There were lots of e-vouchers knocking around on ebay at the time so it cost me about £55 for £100 worth of vouchers.
He left his old in Argos incidentally and within 5 mins of leaving it and going back for it, some lightfingered individual had stolen it
