In amongst the garbage on this thread is about half a page worth of valid points. Most of them mine I hasten to add.

When the mortgages are paid off we will have a very tidy income, the children will have their own homes and guess what when your parents pop off you will be able to take over their rental payments and finally have your own pad(rented):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think when you resort to this kind of stuff, you really lost the fight.

Just my personal opinion, but that's really put me off.

Theres one thing saying you got loads of money. But to continually say that and then say others can't afford to rent, it's a little boring.
  • Ive got a mate who has just bought a 3 bed roomed house to rent out, only paid 70,000 pound for it, he tried to get another but was told by the mortgage people he would have to wait 6 months, he's doing really well out of his btl's, the one btl he has on a tracker mortgage and the monthly payments are about 80 pound.

I think landlords who have bought in the last few years may be in trouble, especially the ones who have bought a few flats to rent out in 2007.

We are going to become landlords, when we rent our house out, we are just waiting for a house to come up that we like, if its that bad why are a lot of people renting their own properties out instead of selling them?

There are a few houses for rent by me, but they never go long without tennants, i think the btl landlords who have bought in 2006 and 2007, will be the only landlords who will end up in trouble, but how many actually did buy then??
