Thanks for all your hard work Black-Saturn. Can't wait to try some of your recipes, especially the fruit cobbler. That sounds like it's going to be a hit with lots of OSers.

  • Although sorely tempted by the fruit cobbler it is going to be the chocolat mousse for me :D A pot of cream awaits in the freezer and I'll scoot out and buy some chocolate tomorrow. All cooking chocolate chez Skintmama having mysteriously vanished :o
    Thanks Black Saturn :T
  • thanks Black Saturn - this is truly inspiring. I am a single Mum of two (very fussy eater) girls - will your kids eat all the meals and what do you do for school lunches? I am off to make that chocolate mousse now!!!

Yes my kids eat all those particular meals. They are not keen on stew and dumplings so I dont really cook that.

My children get a free school dinner so I only have to think about lunch for me during term time.

The good thing about the shopping list is that you wont have to buy some of the things every week. A big bag of flour, frozen peas, herbs, salt, pepper, curry powder etc etc wont all be used up in one week.

I found this thread very interesting & agree, once I sat down to work out my list's it really made me think about where the money goes. I tend to shop 3 weeks, then miss a week. Also what we eat depends on whether or not we have a lodger. Partly as we have more money if we do & also I don't feel I can scrimp too much on food if they are paying to stay with us.
