Mother's day weekend "what small dfw things have you done today ???" thread.

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move some money to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • aim for low spend day
  • plant some more seeds and do some work in garden
  • sparkle a lot - stripey socks today
  • use lots of smilies to cheer me up:D
  • quick bargain hunting trip to town
  • use up no 7 vouchers whilst there

Good morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif, Hi to all the regular postersHShearts.gif and welcome to any newbies welcome2.gif.

  • Hi all
Lovely day here and up and about early enough to enjoy it as DS1 had to be out early on a trip
It'll be football ferrying all morning for me and pick up some veg and bits I need for next weeks meals
:jhave checked bank - I know it's good that nothing has gone out for a dew days but it's so BORING! I might have to open another account that I can DD backwards and forwards from like Eeyore and the balloon in the jar. That way I can still enjoy updating spreadsheets - oh dear, I am so sad !
:jhokey cokey underway and first load on line
:jmade twinks hobnobs last night and going to do some muffins today
:jpesto and pine nut loaf just out of bm - yummy
:jhave to do some work today too as I need something for Monday which I haven't finished. DH is working today but has left post it notes around the house reminding me about it - he knows I'd do anything to distract myself - I'd even contemplate ironing!
:jgarden needs some attention so will try to fit a bit of that in too. I see Lakeland have just launched their latest gardening catalogue
:jreally enjoying a cookery book I got from the library called the Frugal Cook so may treat myself to my own copy of that for mother's day
:jfriend has found some good campsites which let the DSs have campfires so am going to look at their websites and sort some dates out so we can look forward to our weekends away (have trailer tent and all kitted out so cheapish break. Site fees have shot up though)
 have to pay for tickets for stadium gig ( ie £££££!) as DH has been bought one as a present and I have to pay for mine

    Have a great day everyone
    Belle

[STRIKE]PS Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight so have to do more DFWing in less time[/STRIKE] :rotfl:Numpty that I am - it's next weekend!
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
