Taplady thinking of you and your family. I hope it is a false alarm, and I also hope that if it is, they give him some decent pain medication so he gets a good night's sleep.0

Taplady, prayers and hugs that DH will be OK. At least he's in the right place.
Anniebooklover, lovely to read your post.
stefe, were you very excited by going to work:D:rotfl: Bless him! Oh to see the world so beautifullyHope DD's ex leaves her alone, time he got the message!
Well it's been a beautiful day here, so the same story as lots of you, the washing mountain severely reduced:D I have also cleaned some windows, don't all faint:rolleyes: The sun hit them and highlighted every bit of dust and smear, so it had to be done:rotfl: Now of course the light coming through the windows is unhampered and showing up other "to do" areas:rolleyes: Shame I won't be able to do any tomorrow. You have heard that law that says no housework on Mothering Sunday, haven't you? Well I have:D
Enjoy your evenings. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Evening all!
Am typing this on my sister's laptop and the mouse apparently sticks every so often, so please forgive any mistakes.
Major hugs to taplady and family, and plenty of hugs to anyone else who feels the need.
No OS today - walked into town, did some shopping, walked home, had lunch, read for a while, drove to garden centre to buy Mother's Day present, drove to sister's, took eldest niece to park, put kids to bed, had tea and am now ensconced on my sister's sofa until god knows when.
I've brought a book and my cross stitch, but am still tired from getting so little sleep on Thursday night, so may just veg.
Tomorrow is laundry and shopping day. Although I haven't yet joined the Grocery Challenge, I have been trying to keep my spend to £75 per month, and things are starting to get a bit tight so need to make a very careful shopping list tomorrow.
Best wishes to all mothers for tomorrow.

Good evening. I haven't posted on the daily thread for a while. I am really getting the hang of being more OS now. I managed to come in under budget in the grocery challenge for March. Meal planning is going well. Baking in my new cooker has been great. I made brownies for the first time tonight. The boys loved them.
I hope to get a chest freezer in June which will really be useful. My freezer is too small but I can manage for the moment.
No cooking tomorrow. We have a table booked for dinner a 4pm. Hopefully, Dh will have returned from Cardiff! I am sure he will have a bit of a sore head. I have a lot of ironing to do but it can wait.

Hello all,
Will say nothing about rugby....
Annie...look after yourself...shingles can be a nasty thing. We call things 'yokes' here, never heard anyone call a joke a yoke...must be a particular accent does it!
Taplady.....hope that OH is well by now and that it was just a false alarm....would second Moggins by saying look after yourself too...
Hester....take it a bit easier
Churchmouse....don't talk to me about nasty windows, must do them soon or will have lights on all day!
Celyn...enjoy Korea
Head gone...must be all the shouting and swearing at the tv earlier...hugs to all in need or want and welcome to any newbies
Sleep well

Hi guys,
Taplady - I am thinking of you both, gentle hugs to you. xxx
It's been one of those days today  The morning was lost to helping the pc limp along for a bit longer and cleaning the bedrooms and bathroom (soaking wet towels, sodden floor and dolls house pots and pans everywhere!!! How come they are never noisy when creating mayhem?) After lunch I got stuck into downstairs and prepped tea before we went for a couple of hours on the beach.
We went to the beach where Eric used to get his bait and do some fishing and just as we got there the Sun finally broke through, I had forgotten how beautiful it is there. The kids had a whale of a time with their buckets and spades (after LO stopped grumbling about the sand in his sandals) and DS1 found £2.57 on the sand so he was made up.
We called as Argos for the strimmer, a steam cleaner and a keyboard for the pc and used the gift vouchers so it cost nothing. :T :T :T
The trout was delicious and after getting the kids to bed I have re-arranged the lounge (again). The last wash today is on and I will put it on the line in the morning. The plan tomorrow is to hit the back garden and as we were running late today my sis will run me up to B&Q in the week for some plants for the borders.
Gentle hugs to pen-pin, Beth, Annie and to whoever else needs one.
Good night all.
