Managed to book my holiday! Yay!
Got my first date choice, but finding somewhere was a bit of a problem! Worked out 4 date choices and had to stick with them because of school, its an important start for my son as it will be his first year at senior school:eek: went through all the park numbers in area 15,16, & 17 and then started on area 19!:rotfl:
We have Pontins Camber Sands! Any reviews anyone?

thanks everyone for the kind words, did put in letter with request form, did explain that if they had the return dates on the website, we would never have booked, and how ridiculous it was that we had to look on another schools website, to have some sort of clue, explained about it being a cheap holiday, and it being the only way we could afford a holiday this year, also said about it being about us having some quality time together as a family, as at the moment, it is very rare we are all in the house at the same time, only when the kids are in bed late at night, if i am home, the mrs is working, and if the mrs is home, i am working, so hopefully they will show some compassion, but did explain that if they refused to grant us permission, that we would take them out of school regardless, as stated above we need some quality family time, and cant afford to waste the £69.50 we paid last night, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0

we went to camber sands a couple of years ago, accomodation is quite basic, but at least it was clean, and we just used it as a base, one place i suggest you visit is port lympne animal park, that was really good, quite expensive but you can make a day of it, and i dont know if they still do it, but they did then, but if you take your passports you can go across to france for the day from dover, which is just up the road, for free, HTH DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -
Thanks for that Dave (spaceman)
I dont think we will be off on a trip to France, we have no pass ports, but I suppose there is time to sort them out, but would be another expense!
Clean and basic is fine, looks like there might be a fair amount to do at the place itself, so hoping once I have paid for service charge (may try to get out of that by taking our sleeping bags!) we can be entertained a bit on site!
Cheers

Hi has anyone been to Carmarthen Bay.0

Does anyone know which parks are closest to the lake district?
In the north, I think it's the one at Silloth which is right up in the north west part of Cumbria. In the south, it's one of my favourite parks - Lakeland, near Flookborough, about 3 miles from Grange-Over-Sands and a fabulous place to explore the Lakes from.0 -
Yes, it's the Lakeland one for all the well known places in the Lakes...Unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush because we missed out in March and didn't check properly, so booked at Siloth. Is it miles away from anywhere?

RE CAMBER SANDS
we went last august and it can be very expensive so be warned.. the are slot machine and game machine every where and the food was really expensive to eat there. the shop on the outside or over the road werenot to badly priced but i would take all your basic and tins etc.
some of the room were really basic so be warned it might be worth taking a cleaning product and cloth. also the kids activity that were free were few and far bewteen and the charged ones were all over the place.
The beach is LOVELY but does get really busy if hot and sunny but we spent a few lovely days on it .....
have fun0
