has anybody ever managed to change a booking, once it has been made?, Dave
Take every day as it comes!!
  • Dave - I would write to the head teacher and explain that they didn't have the dates on the school website, so you went by last year's example and in all good faith tried to book during what you expected to be holiday - but that as money is short and you feel 'quality time' on holiday with your family is importnat, you will be taking them as booked, so they will not be in school those dates. May not help, but you may get some sympathy and they may be more lenient re the absence.

We try not to take the SK's out of school (although their Birth Mum doesn't seem to give a darn about doing it!) but on the couple of occasions we have done so, a politely-worded letter to the head has worked wonders!

    Good luck,

    FE

PS - I don't think it is poss. to change bookings on this offer, sorry.

one will be in class 5, the other class 3, i would have thought it be better to take them out at beginning of term rather than end of term, they need to make there minds up, last year they went back on the 4th, this year supposed to be the 1st if not for inset day, like i say if we had the infomation before we booked, we would have stuck with the 24th option, but we presumed as in previous years, it would be the first monday in september, what makes it worse, is when i asked the headteacher this morning, she did not even know, if she dont know, how are we supposed to?, Dave

Wouldnt think it would make much difference if u mean primary 5 and primary 3. Wow how times have changed. I use to take my kids out of primary school for 3 weeks at a time to take them to visit relatives in the far east (combined with easter holidays to make 5 weeks). The headteacher use to say there is no better education for them lol. Didnt do them much harm in the long run. They both left secondary school with a dozen straight A / A*'s .
Different story at secondary school of course. One year could only get a flight 2 days before the end of the summer term. The headteacher refused to authorise that leave until my hubby said we were going for a relatives wedding. Authorised it then but asked to see a copy of the wedding pix  :rotfl: . Luckily said head forgot after the summer hols

Thought this school palaver for just for repeat offenders
