Bundle of baby clothes are often found on Ebay for little money too.
If you have a bit of time in the evenings, enter competitions. I have done well out of Twitter of late, and Facebook comps are quite handy too. Set up a separate Facebook for comps and befriend the people from the comping boards.
Other than that, you sound like you're being very sensible. How is the gosling progressing?0 -

Ta for all the tips. Will get to work on creating user accounts for those.
The gosling is a-growing and a-wriggling ! Being pregnant is certainly an experience. Nothing compares to it at all. Even with lots of reading to prepare for each stage, as every pregnancy is different, sometimes you have no idea whether what's going on SHOULD be going on! So far it's all good.
Hope all is hunkydory for you too.

Hi GG haven't popped in for a bit-and just wanted to say congrats on baby GG. You are doing really well, just think of the different mse habits you will are getting into and that is an excellent start.
My top tip would be to start building up little things. So use the home bargains stores and what not to build up baby toiletries and things you will need for after the baby is born.
Register at Tesco to get those extra points if they still do them for the mother and baby group. Look at all the mags for money off vouchers and tips.
If you have a freezer, have a go at batch cooking and freezing meals so they can easily be reheated etc.
As others have said, take advantage of anything peeps can give you as well. I received lots of second hand clothes-some beautiful designer ones too. I used Terry's nappies for mine and just used disposables when we went on any journey.
I think baby items seem to be a lot cheaper these days and you can get some truly beautiful things.

The Latest Update
Hello lovely MSE people!
Nice to "see" you Bob - thanks for popping in!
Not long til I go on maternity leave now which I am looking forward to for more reasons than just feeling tired and stuff. I won't bore you with the details!
Gosling is doing well. Growing as it should be, being very active and spritely, sometimes to spritely! We have already been given lots of things and MrGG has sourced a secondhand baby monitor so I will take the brand new one back!!
One thing to remember is that the Dr/Midwife does not remind you about the Health in Maternity grant so if you are preggers or thinking about it, mark in your diary to apply for the grant as I am sure lots of people out there haven't. Seems daft to turn your back on £190!
We are in the process of preparing the house ready for the new arrival. It will be very strange having a small person in the house.
I am trying to sort out my finances still in particular my horrid Halifax card. My question to you all is do I apply for a transfer to a Sainsburys card which has 0% for 12mths but then goes up to an APR which is 1% higher than my current one, HOWEVER, in the blurb it says that two thirds of customers who apply get that rate however the other rates are like 19% or 21%. So do I apply and hopefully get accepted and enjpy 12mths interest free and then go on whatever APR they give me or do I stick with what I have got and slowly slowly pay it all off??? WWYD?
My PO card, when I called them, did say I could BT to them, but I dont see how as I am already on a limited BT period. I suppose I should call them and find out.
Be interested to hear your views on the Sainsburys card.
Hope you are all well and debtbusting!!!!!

I don't think you can transfer from Halifax to sainsburys as they're the same company. Check with sainsburys before you apply.
Glad you and gosling are well0 -
Awwww shoot!
Never mind - can't blame a bird for trying. The other card I was looking at was BT but turns out that is part of the dreaded evil MBNA gang. Guess I am stuck. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Sort of. Probably better off not even applying for the card, better off not having it on my credit report in case I get turned down.
