    Thanks Bovine Bird!

    Brilliant!

Unfortunately Aldi or Lidl are to far away which is a shame cos I do like a bargain. Chilli recipe would be awesome. I made chilli last week and the main problem was lack of chilli flavour or spice! I have seen a slow cooker book that looks great. It has recipes for one but you make portions for two! Or is it better to choose stuff for four and freeze the rest or is that false economy?

This weekend I am tallying up my debts and redoing my totals as my siggie on here is very out of date and will be lower but as it stands I have no idea how much lower!

What I do know is my Cahoot loan finishes in six months and I be nearly two hundred quid better off each month!

I make enough to feed an army then freeze the rest. Someone on the OS board said that your freezer runs more efficiently if it's full anyway.

    Chilli

    You will need:

    • Mince (We use 500g, because we're dirty carnivores)
    • Large onion
    • Chopped peppers
    • 2 x tins of chopped tomatoes
    • Handful red lentils
    • Handful porridge oats
    • Chilli powder (two whacking teaspoons/or to your taste)
    • 2 beef stock cubes in boiling water (as packet tells you)
    • Two tins of kidney beans
    1. Brown the mince in a pan
    2. Add all ingredients to slow cooker
    3. Stir
    4. Leave on low all day/med for a few hours

I use all value ingredients and it's still fricking tasty. I normally make this around 7am and eat it when I get home at 6pm.

Wahoo to being £200 better off per month! When I'm debt free (A few short months I hope...) I will be £130 per month better off in terms of my loan payment. I can't wait to buy shoes without guilt :rotfl:
  • I shall try that next week.

MrGG and I are braving the supermarket tomorrow night for our sins! I hate shopping as inever know what to get and I always come away thinking that was no MSe shop you overspending muppet.

I will be happy just to have one less debt. Means my overdraft usage will be reduced if nothing else.

I am in a steady job and my boss is happy - not my ideal earnings but only about a mile from my house so I spend about £10 a week parking but not really much on petrol. I also get expenses which help too. Earlier this year tho I hurt my knee, had time off sick and resigned from a job I hated. I then got this one which is much better so things are looking up again

    Hi Lurker!!!!!

Since finding myself carrying baby GG, typically I have been approached about jobs!!!! Arggghhhh !

    I guess that's life.

I shall be a more regular poster on here and once the gosling is here I should imagine that the Internet will be my only friend!!
