  • Another new recruit here, I'm tryin to stick to a £40 budget per week for 2adults and 1 child. I must say I have been taking more advantage of the BOGOF items on sale over the past month and they have stashed up so hopefully I should be able to do it. I am impressed with myself over the past month as usually I would have spent mostly double that per wk!!!!

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

  • I aimed for £150 last month and came in at just under £137, so I'm aiming for £140 this month. Freezer is full as the very nice man from Tesco's came today. My best mate took one look at him and decided she'd have to give this online Tesco's shoping ago....
  • :hello: Another newbie here too! Going to give this a try for March - been watching for a while now and hopefully picked up some good pointers. 3 adults 2 wee ones hoping for £250 for the month. Wish me luck! lol And good luck to everyone else! :j

I'm going to give this a go this month. Have been watching what I spend from Jan but never done an official challenge, so will see what happens.

I am going to try and stick to £220 for 2 adults one 6 year old child and a 10 year old cat!!! My month will run from 24th Feb to 23rd Mar inc.

Have spent £67.16 in Sainsbury's so far but this should do 2 weeks with a top up in the middle.

    Good Luck All :j

Debt now July 2006 £55829.85 and still with CCCS
    Debt Free Date - 24th Jan 2016 :j

Grocery Challenge - £45 per week
    Spent So Far
    Week 1 20th July - £12.49 so far - £32.51 remaining
  • Well, this is my first "official" grocery challenge. I do have a £50 budget a week anyway but am too good at just switching any little extras so that really has to stop! Was hoping to go for £45 but think I'm being a little bit ambitious there so will stick to £50 just now - that's for 2 adults and 2 children.

As you can see I'm already over budget for week 1 but hoping it will all even itself out over the next 4 weeks.
  • hi there can anyone give me some advice as i.m fairly new to this. would like to save more on my shopping but i,ve absolutely no idea how to reduce it, i always go for the bogofs and savings. A couple of good places to start would be a) reading through some of the threads in the Shopping section of the MEGA Index where are there are an assortment of tips on how to shop and quite a few listed under budgeting; and then b) browsing earlier challenges will give you lots of tips on getting started and the sorts of budgets people set for themselves.

You can find these via my signature any time you see it or...

..you can use the Monthly Challenges link in the Blue Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-
