Did my 1st shop of the March challenge today - didn't do online, went to local Morrisons instead - which was good as they had lots of BOGOFs/offers etc!
Spent £57.88 - topped up on fresh stuff/bread/packed lunch stuff/toiletries etc as I already have most of main things for meals during the week. Don't think I did too badly (considering how much I got)20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Gonna join in again this month and now as now holidays or anything else planned should be a average month.
Am starting at £375 as is a 5 week month - here goes!0 -
Well I've been doing well since starting two weeks ago. Initially I set myself a £20-25 weekly budget (previously use to spending £75+ a week), but managed to spend just £17 first week and £14 last week. Planning to get really focused in March though. I know now I can do this, so I'm aiming for just £12-£15 a week starting tomorrow. I'd like to do £12 (having read its possible for one person to eat well on £12 a week), but if I can keep below £15 than I'll be very happy and if I manage to live on less than that, I'll positively just pee my pants with joy!0

Evening all,
Glad to see so many new people joining in and good luck with the challenge.
I will have come in just under target by £0.72 last month but have got enough meals planned to keep us going till next thursday. With this in mind I'm going to keep the budget the same of £200. This is food & cleaning/washing stuff for 2x adults, 1x teenager and a toddler. Our month runs from 28th feb to 30th Mar, nearly 5wks  , so it will definatley be a challenge as I haven't altered the amount we usually spend for 4wks.Rebel No 220 -
My second proper month at this. Last month came in just £1.20 under budget so think I had better stick to £200 since this is a longer month! For 2 adults and 3 very big dogs to include all household stuff but not petrol!
Good luck everyone!0 -
First time have taken up this challenge (although I have had a £250 budget since I got married 20 years ago!!) New month started this week and spent £73.88 and as this is a short month will make it last until the end of March, when I will work per calendar month. Fingers crossed!!!When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0

Hello think I will join in too. I have set myself a budget of £40 (20/2 - 20/3) for one person. (but Dp most weekends) I haven't included cat food as I already have a bulk amount but did include toilet roll, vinegar etc..
I have already spent £28.00 in tesco doing the main bulk of the shopping and just under £2.00 in asda buying tofu. (Tesco didn't have any) I have £10 left for top up veg throughout the month.
I am one week and still have tons of food left, even the week old veg is holding up well in the fridge0 -
Yup, i'm in again, I went over about £30 for Feb, (smacks wrists) partly due to dipping into the cash to pay for prescriptions etc.
Anway, same budget £250.00 for 4 weeks, 2 adults, 2 children and one doggie xFebruary Grocery Challenge £250.00
Spend so far £230!! (Ohhh my days HELP) still got almost 2 weeks left!!0 -
I'm joining the March Grocery Challenge today so my month will go from 27/2 till 31/3 (33 days). I have enough wash powder and toiletries to last the month so should need only food items. Will budget $300 for myself and one teenager (full time ) and one teenager part time (with expensive tastes!).
In the past I ate out a lot (there always seemed to be a "special" occassion so eating out has now lost it's "specialness" and was just getting too expensive) but in Feb have cut this to the minimum and saved heaps and lost weight. Also have cut back on the wine so February was a good month for saving. Petrol and parking costs have also decrease as I have changed jobs (less hours more pay) so all in all I am feeling pleased with myself.
It is thanks to all the fantastic contributors on MSE that I have been able to make changes to save money. I have founds so many great tips on this site and also even more valuable the support and encouragement to take control of my spending.
THANK YOU!!
Thank you to MSE contributers who are a great help to keep me motivated to take care with my spending.0 -
In again this month, Although I only spent just over £100 last month I think that was an exception so I'm still sticking to the £200 for 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 5 fish
Anything left over will go to pay off the billsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500
