Going to join in this month....paid off our credit card at the begining of the month and I went a bit crazy....spent over £400
So back on budget, £70 per week for 3 adults, 4 children and a dog0 -
Hi everyone, I'm aiming for £20 a week (just for myself) but think realistically it might be more like £25. I live in Japan, it's 50p for the cheapest tinned tomatoes, at least 90p for the cheapest bread. Although tofu, miso and dried fish are cheap I recently saw a melon for £20!! :eek:0

My months are calendar months so although the month is not over yet, I've done all the shopping. £27.55 over target - I hadn't planned for my bruv to turn up with half a lamb for £40. Hopefully it will mean I buy less meat this month. Although I didn't join the Feb is use up month I've been looking in my cupboards and there's a lot there I could still use up. My target is for less than £250.Books - the original virtual reality.

I haven't been keeping track of my grocery spending for a couple of months, but I'd like to start again in March, with a budget of £120 for two adults. Eventually, I'd like to get this down to £80-£90 a month, but I will take it slow for now! This is a figure that I'll have to keep an eye on, but shouldn't be TOO much of a challenge.
Edited to Add: Oh, and this will be for the calendar month.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0 -
Hi Everyone!
I'm running my month from 24th feb - 24th march, and I'm going to experiment with monthly shopping and cooking for the freezer.
Did well last month, budgeted £221, spent £181.10, so i've decided to up the stakes a little and see if I can stick to £160 for two adults and one 2yo, for food, toiletries, nappies.
Usually i shop weekly, but did a big monthly shop on Friday (£97.20) and have cooked and frozen a lot of mince-based meals today. Got a whole chicken to SC tomorrow, which should stretch over a few meals too.
Good luck everybody!"Then, when every last cent

I still haven`t sorted how to keep track of my month`s money. I dipped into the pot a few times during feb, for bits and pieces not included in the monthly food and cleaning materials allowance.
I get an organic veg box weekly and a meat box fortnightly, both on a thursday so there will be 5 veg deliveries. Total for that lot is £159
I am going to try for a max of £210 this month so £51 will go into the pot as the meat and veg are paid by cheque or direct debit0 -
My month will run from the 28th Feb to the 30th March. My budget is £200 for two adults and one cat. I already have a n order pending with tesco for £62 which should last us two weeks, so fingers crossed I should be able to keep well on budget
Good luck everyone

Hi this will be my very first challenge and i am really looking forward to it , i have a budget of £400 for all food (including pet food, cleaning materials, and toiletries) and petrol.I have already placed my order with tescos to be delivered on weds which added up to £107 although it said on the tesco site that the price might change( i found that a bit confusing). Idont think the delivery man will be very pleased with me when he sees how much pet food i have ordered, i have a very big dog and a greedy cat!!.
I think this challenge is very interesting and have really enjoyed reading all the messages........I will be changing my job role soon so hopefully will be able to save on petrol but as im a spendaholic im going to have to be very carefully :j0 -
Last month I managed pretty well coming in under my £150 target for 2 adults and an 8 month old. Therefore I am budgeting £140 for the month which for us is 23rd Feb to March 23rd. I have my first tesco online coming tomorrow loaded with value goodies, baby milk and nappies for £60.00. Lidl every wk after that.......There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0
