I fail to see what the problem with Streetview is on any level. You see nothing that you would not see walking down the same
What next ban people taking pictures, blur out all the faces on Flickr, Picasa, Bebo, Facebook, the TV news, and newspapers?
Olivetti lets be fair about this... The people that put their pics and personal details on social networking sites CHOOSE to put them there. I choose not to put any pics on the net, join any of these sites and scrupulously avoid placing anything out there in cyberspace that could possibly even remotely identify me.I do not even associate with anyone who would be possibly be likely to takea pic of me or post information about me on the net as a conscious decision. I will not even allow anyone to take my photograph in my social circle as I do not want anything that could possibly be posted about me on one of these sites.Google Street View may have a pic of me that was taken and posted without my consent. If I was to choose to join Bebo or Facebook or any of the other teenage type sites and put my pic up there that would be MY decision to compromise my own privacy. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
when they pictured my area it was 13.35 at 27 degrees. There is a clock tower thing at the top of the road.0

Oh please stop whinging  No privacy is being compromised here, faces are blanked, as are license plates. ANYONE can take a photograph of your house and post it online, and they could be much more intrusive. Depending on where you live, hundreds, even thousands of people walk past your house everyday, and they are much more likely to invade your privacy than a reletively low-res image on a website will allow.

If you have a problem with any of the views of you or your house etc then just ask them to be removed then all should be ok.0 -
I don't have a problem with it. My boys think it's funny because I keep telling everyone you can see me driving down my street.
You can't see my face. You can't see my registration plate. My neighbours all know I live there anyway. My dh asked if was doing anything I shouldn't, or did I have anyone in the car that I shouldn't have. You can zoom in pretty close as well. You can tell what kind of magic tree I have in the car.

But those people are not as tall as the height of the camera. I can see over the fences round neighbouring property with Street View which I certainly can't do just walking past.
The resolution seems to vary - can certainly tell which weeds are by my front door!0 -
