On the one hand - I love this. It's amazing, fascinating, and is extremely helpful for routes and helping to map your route before a journey.
On the other hand - It's another step towards an Orwellian society. Not quite as scary as http://news.aol.co.uk/social-network-data-monitoring-plan/article/20090324212709710982839 but still a little scary.
One interesting point - I can pinpoint the exact day that they pictured my house, as I was doing the gardening!! :rotfl:26/09/2017 - Started comping again. Wins so far: 1!

I can drag the llittle yellow man over but as soon as I release him he disappears and it never changes from the "map" to the "street" view
Silly question but are you sure your area is covered?
When you drag the yellow man and just hold it over the map the areas and roads that are covered are highlighted in blue. drag it to the road then let go and should work, note that there is a little circle below the man which is the area you actually view not what the man is over.
pm me if you need anymore help.0 -

Best comment by far is....If Mr Wallingham was worried about identity theft by having his number plate on Street view he shouldn't have let the BEP know. He's now had his full name, his address, age and profession published in a major provincial newspaper.

Am I the only person with reservations about this? All you guys getting excited about these views... are you sure you want your house on view? Your mum's house? Your lover's... yourself?
There are cameras just everywhere now. Can't even pick my nose without having to do a 360 check to be sure no one's watching!
It's almost as if people can see exactly what they would walking down the street! How shocking! Invasion of privacy! BIG BROTHER etc, etc.No amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party - Nye Bevan0 -

They've blurred him out close up, but if you look from far enough down the road, you can see him! They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
My cat is sitting on the wall at my old home, but at the house where I now live there is a strange man sitting on my doorstep smoking a cigarette! That was a shock - I feel like opening the front door and telling him to buzz off.
Worth trying to see if you are on there as I live in a little village in the middle of nowhere and my street is available. I know there are so many arguements against this but it was a thrill to play around with, and when I last went to Florida on holiday I used it to plan my route to the holiday villa which was so helpful and far easier to translate than a normal map or sat nav.But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0 -
