I find this really creepy. Does anyone else? It is like having a stalker. I hate to think that someone has gone round filming my home and my workplace (which you may be able to see me through the window of without my consent and putting it on the web. You can clearly see people's faces and vehicles.

Couldn't have been a year. People on my local area are wearing tshirts.

Ive been doing some reading up on this on various sites, none of the pictures are live, and have all been filmed previously, so nothing is live, so no one knows if your in and out.

Also, yes your house etc is on the internet, but is it any different to anyone being able to walk down your street and look at your house, or see you walking down the street??? If anyone wanted to, they could take a photo of you or your house/car and stick it on the internet.

Yes lanny but I still find it creepy. I like my privacy and deliberately don't meet up with people from the net nor post anything that can identify me in any way.

I once took legal action against some loony on the net who took a pic that was taken of me without my consent and sold tshirts on the internet with my picture on and a defamatory slogan. This idiot also hacked my PC and took pics of my friends and circulated them around the cyber community, Sorry this is all a BIG no in my book.Call me old fashioned.

I can understand your point reverbe, and others who find it a bit strange.

It doesnt bother me, we are all watched at some point, whereever we go, people sat watching the world go by, CCTV, etc. These pics arent real time, so i dont have a problem with it.
  • Yeah, great find. I can see my car with the numberplate blanked and I think my house windows needs a clean.

Is Street View violating my privacy?

While the Street View feature enables people to easily find, discover, and plan activities relevant to a location, we take our users' privacy very seriously. Street View only contains imagery from public roads, which is no different than what you might see driving down the street. Imagery of this kind is available in a wide variety of formats for cities all around the world. We are committed to respecting local laws and norms in each country in which we launch Street View. Blurring technology and operational controls like image removal are among the ways in which we ensure that an individual's privacy is respected. We make it easy for users to ask to have photographs of themselves, their children, their cars or their houses completely removed from the product, even where the images have already been blurred.

How can I report a Street View image?

    1.gif Locate the image

    01.jpg
2.gif Click "Report a concern" in the bottom-left of the image window

    02.jpg
3.gif Complete the form, and click "Submit"

If you've found an image that you believe contains objectionable content, just follow these steps:
    1. Locate the image.
    2. Click "Report a concern" in the bottom-left of the image window
    3. Complete the form, and click "Submit.
That's it. We'll review your report promptly
    Is the imagery real-time?

Street View imagery is not real-time. The images were taken in the past year by specialised vehicles driving on public roads.

And your point would be? If you lie to your insurance company about where you park your car , or to the DVLA you deserve all you get. Lying , results in higher premiums for law abiding citizens
