It's like a watched kettle this thread - when I watch it no-one posts and when I leave it I get loads... Thanks guys - nice to come "home" to!

yes my mil is fab. Dinner was yum and I am feeling better in myself again. DS's sports day tomorrow - so we are both hoping for rain... he thinks he will come last in most of his races LOL! I don't want my MIL to visit (to watch his sportsday) as I will have to tidy up again! I don't know why our house deteriorates so quickly but it does!

Glad you all seem okay... Hope we get a good start to the week!

hi SC not caught up with you for ages - hope you are okay!

I keep messing up my online password for that particular account.... I need to get it reset and I have been too lazy! Glad you enjoyed Harry Potter - we did too.... Trip to Paris hey - can't be bad!

I need to get into gear and tidy my house up before sports day! Really struggling to motivate myself today!

OH is planning to go out straight from work to see one of his mates tonight and I have got a pass out for tomorrow to see a friend so that should be nice.

As well as tidying I need to take OH's road fund license into the post office so we can get it refunded. We should get around £90! Woohoo!

well CC bill arrived Spent about 1465!:eek::eek:last month
    Approx
    £730 on car repairs/deposit
    £353 groceries
    £126 petrol
    £74 dining out
    £29 garden/maintenance
    £27 cinema
    £12 clothes
£116 books, household items, luxuries odds and sods

on top of about £700 from main bank accounts plus OH spent £130 on a CC!

To give you an idea - we should have been at more like £630 total spend on groc, petrol etc. Need to give major attention to this but hard as we are coming into the holiday season and are going away twice in the next 6 weeks. Even if we ignored the car spend, we spent double what we planned....:eek::eek: OH doesn't think it is that important as he is sure I will get a new job soon but if I don't it will be a major problem as our savings won't last long....

Is that all?? ours came in at over £4k this month!!!! but over £3k is something we've been planning & saving for for years so the money is there to pay it all off.....should be good for clubcard points though!!

Our groceries spends were similar & we only have part-time little people so you're doing well & we're doing bad bad bad

On the positive side - I should be getting a pension refund soon of between £1400-1800 so that will prop up the kitty a bit.... We do need to get much stricter with ourselves on what we spend money on tho...

2 birthdays in the next couple of weeks including OH who has asked for something costing £80! I think I am going to have to go back to cash and envelopes or tubs to try and get us back on track

Well thanks for the support - but I think you missed the bit where I said - we spent on groceries etc from our main account ON TOP!

The thing is our monthly income has dropped from about £4k too £2K including benefits so altho we are doing much better at managing our money than we were while I was working... Our fixed costs are about £1300 before we even start on petrol, food etc! I know that is still a lot bigger budget than some people manage on but we still find it hard adjusting!

oops! yes, did miss the on top bit

but still, its a big adjustment to make & there's bound to be a hiccup or 2 along the way

Hey SH, sorry I've not posted for a while, just caught up, glad you have got another car and MPG is good. I've got my Mum's Fiesta at the moment (going to be buying it) it does 56 round town and 72 on a long run and costs £35 a year to tax it... wooohooo

Fingers crossed you'll hear about the job soon xxx

    hi lurker and tigs...

Well today has been okay. Only bought a stamp to send off our car tax refund form so pretty good for me!

Sports day for DS went okay but they have rescheduled DD's for tomorrow - arghhhh and mil coming again!!! 3rd time in 7 days shouldn't be allowed!

I really want to try and get car sold for scrap tomorrow and get it done and dusted...

had a serious talk with OH about money today. Should be able to move some of his debt to another 0% card but the repayments will go up from about £25 min payment to more like £200+ which could be quite painful....
