Hi Karen and SC thanks for the replies!

I know Martin says use your savings to pay off your debts and we may well do that once I am in a permanent job again - it is however great peace of mind right now to have them. Last October we had £1.3K in savings but because all of our debt was on interest free we decided to stooze some of the money we would have paid them for emergencies like for when my contract ended in March. It was such a great decision. We have also paid off a number of other cards.

We have one interest free ending in May but that will move to 3.45% so not worried about that one right now. More concerned with the one that ends July.... lets hope I have a job by then so it is clearer what to do next!

OH forgot to take my car this morning so he still hasn't had it checked out - hopefully he will do that tomorrow.

One bit of good news - I got my final pay from my last company today £355 :jso that is a big help! I've worked out if we are really careful my "cushion" in Acct 1 should last until around the end of August :Twhich would be great. I do have unemployment insurance, not sure if they will pay out tho as I was in a fixed term contract. I am going to dig out the paperwork and give them a call. I have a feeling if they do pay out that would be £450 a month extra which would be fab if I can get it!

The housework is calling me.... I can only ignore is so long

Well reading the small print of my mortgage insurance it is very unlikely to pay out which is a shame as if it did it would pay out £575 per month! I am absolutely gutted... _pale_ I thought they would pay as long as I had been in role at least 6 months! I think I will put in my claim anyway and see what happens.... Nothing to lose.

Managed to get my DS 2 pairs of trousers for £9 from Mr Ts since he'd managed to split all his school trousers!

    Afternoon,

It's def worth giving it a go with the claim....you never know!

Great news on the final pay, all helps. You're doing great with money and savings - only wish I was as good as you a few years back. Might not be in this mess now :o

Hi guys thanks for posting! :T

Well I have one charity bag and 3 bin bags of "rubbish" emptied from DD's room! It is her birthday soon so trying to create some space! She still has too much stuff tho - so if I am feeling up to it may have another go tomorrow.

I seem to have lost my job hunting umph! I got rung up by an agency today who'd seen my CV on monster. I already know the person from when she worked elsewhere.... She's got no jobs for me currently tho. I am still waiting to hear how last week's interview went. If I don't get to at least second stage for that then hopefully I might kick myself into gear and apply for a few more jobs.

Had porridge for lunch LOL! No breakfast got up too late (he he) Having beef roast dinner again for tea!

GG no problem re scratchies link!

One of my DD's friends CAN'T make it to her party I am so pleased!:rotfl:She invited 7 this year... I am hoping we get down to about 5 friends - that would be more manageable!

    Hi savingholmes,

Congrats on getting the final pay, it all adds up. Good luck with the claim, why does it all seem like you pay for insurances and never get the benefits?! Weird!

Typical insurance companies, quicker than a rat up a drainpipe to take the money off you, do they like paying it out?? No sireeee they don't.

Understand about fraudulent claims etc, it seems its always the genuine claims that suffer.
