Hi all! Those who had chinese yesterday - I would say tut tut but we beat you to it by a day LOL!
Well we have done absolutely rubbish on the grocery challenge this month. Just spent another £57 on groceries. I think it is a combination of things.... We wanted more fresh food, the kids are now on packed lunches "saving" £80 a month and I used to get free lunches at work.... So I need to find a way of dealing with all that and reducing it back down.
I've just had tinned salmon and salad for lunch and given OH tuna and sweetcorn mayo and salad. There is enough left of both for tomorrow at least. Perhaps DS will use some of the tuna on sandwiches for school too..... I lost 2lb earlier in the week and I would like that trend to continue if poss - so its a bit of a balancing act cost vs fresh!
I've got beef cooking in the oven - I am hoping to get 3 days worth of meals out of it - wish me luck!
OH has cut the front lawn, we've been to church, DS is out on a playdate the world is looking reasonably okay! Hope all is well with your world too today!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds like you have had a lovely day and topping it off with roast beef - yummy!
Well done on the 2lb weight loss - this is an area I am planning to tackle starting this week. These nice sunny days have made me realise that I need to lose a little and ton up a lot :rotfl:

Roast beef was lovely. OH served it out. I took a piece off everybody and put it back in the dish!!!:money: Told him it had to last 3 days he wasn't impressed. It was plenty tho!
Done a bit more work in the garden - lots of weeding and used up all my grow bag soil so I must admit I intend to get a few more. DD and I planted some wildflower seeds (£1.50 :jfor a big pack from Home and Bargains) on top of the soil so it will be a cheap way of getting more colour into the garden once we've finished. I've been emptying pots too which I'm thinking of giving my sister as my OH thinks I have to many - it is possible that he could be right! Her OH can then perhaps plant them up for a bit of colour etc and then if they do end up moving again then they can take them with them!
I want to have something to show for my time off work! At the moment the motivation doesn't seem to have struck for decluttering my house but if my garden is shipshape that will still be a benefit! I have some gorgeous azaleas in bloom (purple and pink) and a lovely kerria (yellow) plus the odd tulip and narcissi and a few geraniums.... I have replanted a flame of forest this afternoon out of a pot (instead of buying a new plant) :money:and moved some other plants around so the area down the side of my house looks good again! I also have a planted area in the middle of my front lawn that I have put some nice soil on and then some seed! Can't wait for the seedlings to come up:j.
DD is in the bath - better late than never! DS still needs a shower but it may be tomorrow now as he has just announced he has to do a timed test as part of his homework:eek:. Some good mse news tho - in my area the govt are allowing kids to swim free :money:so we picked up their cards tonight! That should be good for them - altho it will mean I end up spending more taking DD swimming - she won't want to miss out altho DS could go by himself. It may help me get fit and shed a few extra pounds tho so it could well be worth it! Tomorrow DS is going swimming with friends....
I've also done a couple of loads of washing. Unfortunately none of it was the kids school clothes - I still need to do them :rotfl:I don't think I am ever likely to win organised parent of the year award but there we go! I have a couple of foothigh ironing pile if anyone would like to join in??? Any takers ??? I thought not :rotfl:I suppose I'd better stop blogging and go and wash my DD's hair and get her to bed. Her hair will need to be plaited too of course so it is curly tomorrow. Very important when you are 5!;)

Morning,
Hope you are well today, can't believe it is Monday alredy.....mind you worked the weekend so I guess I can!
Just withdrawn another £10 on scratchies - yay :T I feel lucky as had a couple of £5 and £1 wins which has brought the totals up nice and quickly. I bet the next £10 takes forever. Still it is free money and a great way to add to the savings every now and then.
Hope you have a good day!0 -
P.S - hope car doesn't pack up too soon :-(0
