Well done on the getting through to the next stage of interview :j:T

Did you survive the 3 hours of kids indoors due to the rain!?! It's still really miserable here. Makes me want to put my pj's back on and cosy up in bed.

So a lovely holiday to Cornwall to look foward to eh, it's beautiful down there. Haven't been in a while but funnily enough OH and I were talking about going camping that way in the summer. No holidays abroad for me this year.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. No doubt i'll be back on here later but for now I am taking a break from computer as i'm very stiff.

Hi all esp Karen and MrsCmr

I survived the 3 hours with DD and her friend. Her friend's mum then took my daughter bowling - she beat her friend LOL! £4.40 it cost me!

I signed on and gave in my interview expenses claim forms and picked up some spares.

I did a verbal reasoning practice test and got 76% right (raw score) but on my maths I got 31% right but really I only answered 22 out of 39 so got 12 of the 22 I answered correct. Because they are trial version I don't know what my norm score would be. I would welcome any help I can get esp on the maths which almost reduces me to tears to be honest!

Last time I did the practice test I also only answered half but on the real thing I managed to answer 2/3 but still only got a normed score of 37 percentile.... Hopefully maths won't be the deciding factor! I got in the high nineties for verbal last time!!! I am thinking of getting myself a new bigger calculator and some pencils for doing the real thing.

I could do with more practice first tho. If I think I'm going to get the wrong answer (maths) I freeze and I kind of have to unfreeze myself and carry on but unfortunately that takes time... MrsCmr I will send you a private message....

we too, had play dates 2 days ago and tbh it was grim. the 4 yr old had a friend and the 8 yr old had a friend. ds#2 and ds#3 decided they didnt like their friends and got the sulks and then decided to fight. friend 1 and friend 2 [cousins] decided they wish they hadnt come - i only kept them happy by feeding them cookies till their mum came. i vow no more playdates till they have both left home!

    i have pm'd u.

  • Very impressed with the number of roles you have applied for. That is some figure.

I hate Maths too. One of my weakest areas and I dread any tests I may have if they are Maths based. As I will be totally S. C. R. E. W. E. D.

Mr GG have yet to lay any eggs of our own (that doesnt mean I am a surrogate BTW!! LOL) though one day we hope too. Must say hearing your experience of playdates mrscmr I think we'll make sure we send our chicks off to other people's houses and not host any of our own... much safer that way.

Hi MrsC - I sympathise on the play dates - a day or 2 ago I had a little girl over to play - a regular - she asked to go home 4 times while she was here before I finally took her, the first time after only an hour! My DS was out on his bike without a key so I made her wait! Today's little girl is normally a nightmare I've caught her using our ensuite !!! before but today she was as good as gold.

GG if you have children it follows if you want your kids to have friends that you will need to set up play dates! Be warned! LOL

  • If so, each child invited over will have to first have an interview to assess their suitability and level of housetrained-ness. I feel its only fair and just.

    LOL

the play date thing is just grimsters... if someone says to me "oh would ur son like to come to play/tea/sleep over" my blood runs cold cos i know i have to return the favour. and i know that it will be grim. i try not to have kids on a wet day if poss - so i spend days looking at weather forecast in vain. so we end up at a soft play / cinema anywhere but home.

  • That is what I would do too.

Do you have to pay for the other kids if you take them out somewhere?

Personally, I'd give the parent some money to put towards the activity..... as long as the parent was not some DelBoy and would just pocket it!

MrsC Yeah if I am feeling low the play day will be at soft play or a farm if I am feeling strong I consider having it at home.

GG - re the interview I completely agree.... (what do you think the parents in the playground scenario is for!) my children have never worked out why only certain of their friends ever get invited! :rotfl:If their parents are hard work or can't control their kids I tend not to bother :rotfl::eek::rotfl:
