Well today I had a shorter lie in. My cleaner came (I've told her I will keep her on for now but that if I haven't got a job come the end of April that I will give her one month's notice to finish end of May).... I am not good in the cleaning and tidying dept at all. What she does in 3.5 hours would take me all week! the house always feels lighter after she has been.
We had some spag bol for dinner that I made last night. It is full of onions, mushrooms, peppers etc and some quorn as well as mince beef etc - but I liquidised it so the kids couldn't see. I then mixed it in with the cooked pasta and they both ate it no problem. DD even had seconds.... Traditionally she has only been willing to eat the tinned version!!! at £1 a throw!!! So some progress there at least.
Took the kids this afternoon to a pub with a play area. My DD could play for free provided we all bought at least drinks - so it came to about £5 for 2 hours fun! DS read a book on his ipod the cirque du freak!! and I had another go at reading what colour is your parachute. Not convinced by the book at all - not sure why people rave about it but then perhaps I had a clearer idea of what I want from my career before I began reading than others do.
We also nipped to instore - my son needed a protractor to do his maths sats! We managed to get a stationary set for 48p - we were well impressed!
I've taken hayfever tablets today and anadin as I am feeling all cold and shivery and have had a sore throat for a few days now. Hopefully I will start to feel better soon. OH is at work - he went on his motorbike - cheaper petrol wise than his car. He is enjoying that at least.
I have to sign on tomorrow and take my completed interview expense forms for 2 interviews from last week. I also need to fill out a form for Tuesday's interview....
I got word today that I had not got one of the jobs I had applied for. It was a bit far to travel too (about an hours and 20 mins) so that is okay.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

[STRIKE]- apply for 2 really good jobs I've seen on web[/STRIKE]

well I hope Ruby has got it by now lol the weddings tomorrow! I am sure she will look fab.
I think when you said on Ruby's thread about dont worry about cost, worry about fit, that is so true I think often we try and buy cheaply but then end up not truely happy with it. very wise words
better go to bed I am not a late night person0

Oh well I have been up really late tonight... I think being round the kids all day makes me crave "me time" hence staying up later. Hopefully I will go to bed at a decent time once they are back at school.
Anyway I've checked our on-line bank account and in OH's account we have £800 left at the end of the month (last month we had £200) a few months ago we were minus £800. So I am really chuffed. I've moved £700 to our bills account. I am waiting for my cashback CC statement tho as I have spent on that. But it does show that OH and I have really cut back. Hopefully next month we will do even better!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

            hi SH
just popping in... im up late too - not through choice... sicky 4 yr old... been sick in his bed, had to have bath, clean bed etc. but now back sleeping again. sounds like u and oh really making moves in the right direction. i do a spreadsheet which tracks our lovely [?] debt and every time we make a payment to something i make a new copy and show how the debt is reducing. i think between nov 08 and now we are 8k better off. sounds alot 8k but over all its just a drop in ocean.
back to school on tuesday for us... so some peace and some more ebay activity for me.
im off back to bed now
night all.. if there is anyone else out there at this time!

            Morning!
Blimey you guys were up late last night! I must say I don't think I would log on so late if couldn't sleep etc or I might end up staying on it and never going to bed :rotfl:it's so addictive!!
Understand what you mean about 'me time' SH. Even though I don't have kids yet I still get those moments where I just need to be by myself and space.
Hope your little one is better mrscmr, poor love.
 Have a good day all,
 K x0

HI Karen - hope you have a good day.
MrsCmr hope your 4 year old is better soon.
Well ALL I have some news... I got thro to next stage :j:j:j on last Tuesdays interviews - TESTS argh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A big relief to get this far tho as this is the job I think I am most suited for. Only 1 final panel interview after that providing they like the test results. Better get practicing my MATHS! eEEK! Agent wanted reassuring I would take job if offered - took that as a positive sign...
I didn't get thro on last Wednesday's interview but neither did anyone else. Feedback came across strongest technically but passion and enthusiasm didn't come across. But she didn't think any of the other candidates were "passionate and enthusiastic" enough either so the agency said not to worry about it. He wasn't convinced there was anything I could have done differently. She turned down everyone she saw on the day - that always makes me feel better. As you know when I came back I wasn't convinced that one was right for me... Not going to let it bother me tho....
 On more trivial topics....
 * DD has a friend coming round in 40 minutes and I need to eat my porridge and get dressed :rotfl:
 * I have to sign on - and I need those completed forms to take with me.
 * One of the jobs I applied for yesterday wants some more info - so I need to look at what that is and send it.
 * Still need to do the other tasks from yesterday too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well DD's friend is now here - agreed to have her for 3 hours  It is pouring down with rain outside so lets hope it was the right decision!
I've just rung to chase up about our holiday payment - I kind of won one of those timeshare holiday things but there was still an annual membership fee - anyway they have waived the first year's fee :jother than the first £25.50 which I have already paid. That is fab. So I truely get a free holiday for the family at peak time in August in Cornwall. Amazing!:j I thought we had to pay it and then claim it back as a refund if we surrendered our membership but apparently not because we had a free nights stay away in the Lakes as part of their induction they waived the remainder of the fee! :j I'd been mentally holding on to £275 to pay for that and now I don't have too - whoopee!
I have packed the dishwasher but still not done the forms I need for this afternoon or anything else useful... I've won a few games of spider solitaire - does that count? :rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
