Picked up DD. Teacher ageed to the refund but spent it on some film tickets for school !!!

I got a 2 week sick note from the doctor which was a big relief. Planning to discuss resigning with OH tonight.... Will try and get a job at a fast food place or a shop at night or something to tide us over.... Can't face going back...

  • Hi, just popping in. It's sad that you can't face going back to work, but you need to do what is best for you and your sanity. Best of luck with finding something, but beware of the likes of fast food places if your health is not 100% as they are very quick to get rid.

    Hi SH

I'm glad to see your knee is recovering :) The old injury might have something to do with why it's taken a while, they say that when something like that happens, it can leave marks under the skin (scar tissue etc) so maybe there was something there that your incident at work aggravated. Glad the physio is working :)

The decision to resign is probably a good one, the long distance and difficult hours haven't been easy for you, I agree with gilligansyle though about the fast food places, because they have such a staff turnover, they wouldn't be shy about letting someone go as they would have more people to take their places.
The shop at night might be ok, but might put you in similar position as you are now, if you are working nights you will want/need to sleep during the day, which might mean you'd miss out on time with DD and DS.

I hope everything works out the right way for you, you've had such a tough time recently and things need to start turning around for you :)

    Take care xxx

    Hi Ruby, Bevan and Gill

Have decided will resign - OH supportive - just need to communicate to manager now.

I have also found a local job to apply for which is a significant step down but only temporary and doing something a bit more positive than what I have been doing but in the same field. It may also prove a useful stepping stone for the future and it is in my home town - so intend to follow that up tomorrow.

I just know that I can't keep doing what I have always done and expect different results. ie I can't sacrifice my own needs all the time to earn money and expect to be happy, fit and healthy....

  • Well done on coming to that decision. For what it's worth I think you have made the right choice, it is obviously affecting how you feel on a day to day basis so it's good to sort it out now.

Good luck with applying for the other jobs.

Hi SH, hope the resigning and applying for the new job goes well.

Seen you winning on W, and your posts on BP, so know you've been busy. OH just got his first redeem on W, but the last few golds took ages!!!! Now the gold's have quickened up again a bit, I'm about halfway to my next.

Borderline for a BP redeem this week, missed a few days with flying back and then no internet for a while. Depends on what happens this morning, and how much time I've got.

Pleased to hear that you're getting more mobility in your knee and managing to get more done.

    Have a good day :)

    hi IMD, Lurker and Se

Well I have just emailed over my resignation! I think it is close to being my first ever which is probably why it is so scary for me. I think once it is all done and dusted though it will be a weight off my mind and hopefully I can just get on with finding whatever I am going to do next.

I even found a role yesterday that was local and at the right money - which I definitely wouldn't have found if I hadn't been looking. I put in my home town and found about 6 different things I could apply for varying dramatically in money but nevertheless possible ways forward.

    Wish me luck!

  • Hey SH that's fab. Remember health is more important than anything because once that's gone, it's gone.

You already sound more positive so well done brave lady!
