I'm now imagining your fluffy knee! Glad the gels are more effective.
I guess old injuries could be a problem.

Being finished from work might just be a blessing in disguise. If you hand in your notice - you won't get any benefits. It obviously isn't the job for you as it involves such long journeys - is making you depressed and interferring with the work/family balance too much. Sometimes these things are taken out of our hands for a reason - if you aren't working you can concentrate on getting 'properly' well and then a job. Only problem is - managing between...... conundrums, conundrums..... why is life so complicated.

Are the children back at school tomorrow - week went far too quickly!!

Hi Jellie what is funnier is one of the gels I am using is a freezing gel and is coloured blue - not a great look when it "runs"!

Yup I can't afford to resign however tempting it would affect:
    • any accident claim I might make - need to send the paperwork off on that and see if there is a chance
    • any insurance claim I might be able to make on my mortgage insurance
    • and mess up any future benefits!
I think if there is a residual longer term problem with my knee it is better to get it resolved and dealt with now than go back to work in pain and have it become an issue again later....

Hi CMD nice of you to pop in - look forward to your baby making an appearance!

I am hopeful that I will be able to motivate myself to do some much needed paperwork tomorrow.

I don't know about you but we had over an inch of snow last night - and still have some left - it will be interesting to see what the weather is like this week

  • I use that blue freezing gel - it's quite good and not as smelly as deep heat which just makes me think of football changing rooms - not that I've ever been in one so don't know why......

You can get the ice packs which I've found quite useful as well.

Hope you get your paperwork done today and hang in there with work, after all you fell over at work and it wasn't your choice to be off sick.

Hi CSA nice to see you again

Tummy seems to have settled again. Went out for a coffee but other than a banana not eaten today. Got appointment with doctor later wil see what outcome from that is.

I think I am more and more coming to the conclusion I want to resign - am a scaredy cat tho.... Need to discuss with OH and try and make a decision today I think.

The last couple of days my knee has improved an amazing amount both in terms of pain and flexibility. I still have some swelling above my knee cap but the swelling has largely gone from the sides of my knee. Gels are definitely better than tablets for dealing with this kind of injury. At least I know if there is a next time.

Am worried the GP might send me back to work - my knee has improved that much this week! Excuses for avoiding housework will therefore run out too. Am I brave enough to resign and look for another job?

    hi lhb

I have just put last night's tinned shopping away - which including majorly bending my knee while I crouched - there was a bit of an ouch factor but a week ago I couldn't even do it. I then bent down and unpacked the dishwasher and packed it - so far so good - OH will be pleased.

Need to tackle the front room when I get back from the doctors and then give sorting the washing a go..... and of course remember to pick up DD.

I am going to delicately ask the after school gym teacher for a refund as DD feels her feet hurt her too much to do it.... hmmm - MSE but difficult to do. It will be great if I can get the money back tho - I think it was £12 and she has decided now she would rather do drama.
