  • OH has been given a 2.5% pay rise from March which should help - really chuffed about that. He got nothing last year so this is good news! He should also get his overtime pay at the end of this week too.

    That's great news :)

Have you decided where you are going to eat tonight?

I might go into town tomorrow and have a Mc Donalds!

OH fancies steak so planning to go to a really friendly country pub about 4 miles away.... I don't drink so even if he does -I can drive back.

He is planning to go out with a friend tomorrow night so good job I got in first with taking him out tonight!

I've experimented a bit with some makeup I got in the buy 2 get 1 free deal from Boots at xmas - OH seems to like it so that is good!

Congrats on the payrise, payrises are few & far between. OH was made redundant last year, and took a major pay drop to get a job. But in the current market getting a job was brilliant anyway.

Once half terms over we can do some pm's to try to work out the best way to get w working. Might not be online so much next week, flying back on Friday, and not sure what internet connections I'll have next week, but will reply when I can.

    Have a super evening sh

hi se and btd - We had a great time thank you - altho it stretched the wee purse strngs somewhat!

Today - taking DD to specialist - OH going to pick her up in a min and then need to feed her and take her. After that will collect DS and then later we are going to the cinema as a family which should be nice!

I also need to collect my sick note at some point - apparently I have one I just don't know yet how long for

OH is going to nip to the shop to buy bread and milk - looks like we are having beans on toast for tea!

Altho this week's meals out spends have been high - I deliberately didn't do a "proper" shop in the hope that it would compensate a little!

Still only on 10 gold stars on woohoo!

Now at 13 gold stars.... only another 187 to go!

Took DD to specialist - she has to wear special shoes at night for 10 minutes a day to stretch a muscle under her foot bless her! We have also been told that high heeled shoes will help (inch or so) which is good as I had felt guilty about letting her have them. Apparently we should buy her heeled school shoes! Well that will shut up MIL and SIL!!!!

Still got our cinema trip to look forward to this afternoon so that is nice.... Knee hurts a bit today but not too bad.....

Have got a sick note for another week.

Hi jellie - seen from your diary that you are in the process of moving - so hope all goes well.

I have checked our finances today.

Spent less on the cashback card than normal and bank account looking okay - but hindered by the fact that

    a) I still need to submit a timesheet for some days plus expenses dating back to December
    b) I need to then send off expenses with relevant fuel receipts!
    c) I need to send off my latest sick note!!

Without a and b) - March will be tricky ie resulting in major dip into overdraft! I think it is worth about £300

Just wish I could find the relevant get up and go!

We are doing better than normal - but not by enough..... So might need to rethink spending plans for the rest of the week! Would still like to take kids to Pizza Hut tho - and think can do it for £21 so that may be treat for tomorrow.... Need to find something low cost to do during the day - Thurs and Friday..... hmmmm

House is a tip and needs tidying... strangely I don't think that will count....

PS Just remembered OH should be paid his overtime this month so that should help a bit....

  • Dont be too hard on yourself SavingH. You are in pain with your knee and that wont be helping at all.

The money is due to you so you will be getting it at some stage. Maybe try to do one task a day?
