One of my prescription items comes in a box of 84 tab's and it counts as 2 prescription items each time, it even says so on the box. If it counted as 1 I'd be better off without the certificate, as I only need occasional other things. So it probably depends on the item. But definitely worth checking.

I have the PPC. I should really make more effort to get more of the stuff I need on prescription rather than over the counter.
I do manage to get things like cocodamol on prescription.

    Thanks guys

Well I didn't send off the sick notes but need to

I did take the socks back and got my £7 refund, but I then took out £30 cash and spent about £15 in Asda on cleaning bargains and some food! Ooops!

That's reminded me, I need to ask about hayfever stuff to be added to my repeats when I next see the Doctor, that will help the budgets a bit too :)

OK it's not exactly hayfever season, but I don't like seeing the doctor very often :o

    Might ask about Gaviscon too!!

Well I've just spoken to a solicitor to see if I have an injury claim - and have a phone appointment tomorrow to speak to another one then. She will decide whether it is in their interest to take my case further or not. Obviously it would be a big help if I could claim something back especially as I am now on £80 a week and contemplating physio costs...

I'll let you know how I get on

Hiya - you are right to see if you have a claim. You have to think of your finances. How long more have you been signed off work?

OH has managed to fix DS's ipod for £32 in total (instead of the £80 for sending it off). I had persuaded him to buy a new ipod cover and screen protector - for £2.98 off amazon using a voucher from bp - effectively - making up for what I have just spent at Dunelm so that's good!

DS has come home with letters from school - 1) was a trip to france - nearly £500 which we said no to. 2) was a trip to France skiing which was £775 plus extras like clothing, spending money etc. He was okay about not going to the first but would really like to go to the second but I just can't see how it would be possible. I don't really want to say no though.

He would be willing to put say £300-400 to it himself from his birthday and xmas presents but that assumes that next year everyone is as generous as they were this year. It also ignores the face that they want it paid in full by October 2010 with a deposit of £100 now !!! Ouch ! Ouch ! Ouch. It is to go around this time next year but even so it is a lot to ask!

He also wants to go on a trip to Scotland with church in March - not clear what money he will need for that yet. He also wants to go on a youth holiday in May which is likely to be around £110!

It is hard being a parent sometimes!
