Well tonight has been spreadsheet night - barring a miracle likely to take 2 years to be debt free. Want it to be much quicker - need to find a way of earning more - top priority.
DS is having a party this weekend - has agreed just to have DVD, pizza at home and perhaps wii games and a handful of friends. Relieved low cost option!
Need to reduce my CC spend per month... Petrol, Groceries, Clothes, Misc spend... That should then free up more for debt repayments. I just need transport related bills to stop which is probably unrealistic.
I have signed myself up for some challenges too - want to try and make some money on ebay or equivalent selling stuff - and see how that goes. I think more important for me tho would be to stop buying things in the first place!
As an example went out the other day - spent £100 plus on groceries minus £30 giftcard plus £82 at Dunelm. Some of which was completely unnecessary - that type of things needs to stop!
My top money target is to pay off my BC in the next 100 days - so that would be £1446 to be blitzed!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

By the way - I have earned my first money of the year already £10 profit on the way from quidco - woohoo! That was a gambling loophole £20 cashback for £10 stake - and I won on it !! This was a while ago. Off to do my daily scratchcards etc now! Got £10 in Amazon vouchers yesterday so ordered a couple of books for OH and DS to share LOL! hi Gill - I have had £338 just from quidco - OH has had at least £150 - I do other cash back sites too.... Definitely worth doing. I sometimes win on the gambling loopholes too so that is always good.
Well today I am tackling our lounge - I've had to cut all the hairs and threads off the bottom of our dyson to get it to work mind you but we are getting there. I can now see 7/8 of our floor in our lounge... Just a bit more to tidy.
OH has just made fudge brownies with DD and DS - priceless !
OH has also made a start on clearing his study and it is looking much better. DS has unpacked the dishwasher and it is now ready for another offering so slowly climbing on top of the mess and clearing it off....
Hope you are all having a good start to the new year!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

:A:AThings to be grateful for this year:A:A
Family
Our relationship with each other is still good
We are all healthy
Closer to wider family than in previous years - with some emotional healing having taken place
2 weddings in the family, at 1 of which kids got to be bridesmaid, usher and OH got to be the minister
Friends
We have them!
The kids have them!
Virtual friends on here too!
My friend with cancer is still with us whereas this time last year I didn't expect her to be
OH has even managed to stay in touch with friends from a job he left about 9 years ago!
Holidays
We had 2 free holidays this year in very nice accommodation - woohoo:money:
Transport
2 cars "died" but MIL lent us the money to get another which so far is doing us proud
OH given a BMW tourer motorbike! (worth more than my car:rotfl:)
Employment
Well spent nearly half the year unemployed but eventually got a job - although far from ideal - it is only temporary so hopefully will get a better one in 2010!
OH kept his job without which we would have completely gone under - they have been incredibly flexible over working hours which has also helped out a lot
Oh now has a better manager which has transformed his working life - he is even getting training now!
I have stayed mentally healthy despite employment rollercoaster!
Money
Managed not to add to debts while unemployed other than to buy a car - which technically is an asset and couldn't be helped
Now completed 18 months the MSE way - and at no point have I completely lost it and gone back to my old ways - despite lots of pressure points along the way
We owe less than we did this time last year - despite the £4K car loan!
Xmas and birthdays paid for totally by the Make £10 a day challenge - as well as contributing to other luxuries and debt repayment!
Currently over £500 down a month - but still managing to stay within budget and pay off our debts - unthinkable when I first joined!
:AThanks again to everyone who has supported me on this journey and to everyone who encourages me in the coming years! :AAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
