Well OH cleaned up kitchen again - some left to do tho. Got him making tea now.
I have filled a bin bag with rubbish and a charity bag from stuff in DD's room. I have completely redone her bookcase, and found homes for some of her stuff. Unfortunately - that took 2-3 hours to do - and I think there is as much again left to do!
Took DD into town - didn't see anything worth while in the sales at M&S or Evans so didn't bother with any others! Main purpose for trip - to put £270 cash into the bank! Achieved - woohoo. Second reason for the trip - to open a savings account for DD - achieved - she deposited £50 at 6 bless her! I am so proud of her.... There was nothing she wanted so she was happy to put her money in the bank! She's keen to go and put more in every week!
So much to do - and work seems to be hurrying ever closer!

I've been working on the rest of the house this week, and am getting to that point where DD and DS room are the only ones remaining  DS is off to France in a week or so, for several weeks, so I can get in there then and blitz it without any opposition..........but trying to get DD to clear hers so I can decorate it is proving to be more of a problem....she does "bits" but never enough for me to actually access any wall space - I even bought her new curtains for Christmas, hoping she would be encouraged to tidy a bit, but as yet everything remains the same......

Glad I am not the only one. We bought DS a whole new storage unit in the summer thinking he didn't have enough storage space but it hasn't made a scrap of difference. I just wish it was only the kids rooms left to do - unfortunately that is not the case. We still look like we have been burgled! Hall and kitchen looking reasonable but the rest!!!!!!!!!!!
On another note - we want to buy a new bed for the guest room / my study - and a friend is going to ikea soon so that should save me a trip - fab news! Great incentive to get on with sorting out my study too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've only got on top of things this week due to having a few days off work - time off work is almost unheard of for me, and having it coincide with the urge to do housework is incredibly rare.....so have been siezing the moment in case it evaporates sharpish!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I want to sort out the house - my knee still playing up which isn't helping me do that tho. Putting my trainers back on tho has made a difference to the pain level - so honestly can recommend them...
Need to get cracking again... just wish I could see more clear space from my efforts!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

On another note - OH has managed to balance transfer £2875 to 0% for 12 months - I think it was a 3% (£86.25) transfer fee but still well worth it. Rate otherwise would have gone to 15.9%. Now need to find a home for another £1746.4. That's the good news.
The bad news is - I should have been paid today - already a week late - and no money has arrived! I am fizzing mad but unsure whose fault it is yet!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

have just caught up with the last few weeks - blimey SH, not exactly a calm & mellow run up to Christmas & NY!
If you find your knee is hurting at night its worth trying sleeping with it resting on a pillow - I have knee issues & on bad nights the pillow can be the difference between sleep or no sleep
On a different note, thank you my internet friend for your help, advice & support this year - here's hoping that 2010 brings you much good health & happiness
