well I have had two nsds in the last 3 days - would have been 3 but inlaws requested something from the shop lol!

I have redeemed another five pound from bp so pleased with that. Also I got £60 cash for xmas and OH got £40 - he has said i can put it towards getting a new guest bed so that is good! Can do this because bp has paid for lots of treats for him anyway!

House is still a massive tip with pressies everywhere but knee and elbow seem sorer than ever- Think I am using my knee too much going up and down stairs so to be honest hurting nearly as much as first couple of days which is not great. Normally at some point this week we would go for a family walk - can't see that happening with my knee hurting so badly - just have to hope it also limits my shopping lol!

The kids were very pleased with their pressies. DD now has nearly £60 and is chuffed to bits as she got most things on her list on top. DS has so far got £232 of the £300 we thought we'd need for him to upgrade his computer. Went to order it last night on the understanding he gives us the rest of the money when he can - to find it had come down 10% and is now £270 - a £30 saving. He is therefore only £38 short - which considering he hasn't had all his birthday presents yet - should mean that he makes his "target". Glad I made OH wait - as £30 off - it should in theory be with us tomorrow!

Ordered the game avatar christmas eve mostly using bp amazon vouchers and that has now been dispatched too. I have redeemed another £5 this week - so hope to get another book on DS's wishlist soon! one that OH also wants - he nicked DS's new book xmas day and read it himself! This would be the next one in the series.

DS has agreed to a relatively cheap birthday treat of his friends round for pizza and a dvd and possibly some wii games - so hopefully we can manage that. Just need the house to be tidy first tho!

Have got OH cooking tea- I did dinner. There is just so much to do all the time! hope you are all having a good holiday

Wonderful saving on the computer SH, are you buying parts and putting them in? Or sending it away to be done etc? I was so lucky when I posted on the techie thread, they were all brilliant and helped me all the way through purchasing the 'parts' and even helping me on putting it together! :D Still love it :D

Did the Dr give you anything for pain relief? My Mum swears by ibuleive (sp?) and I have to admit it does seem to work on me too :)

I'm hoping in my 2 weeks off, with 1 week at Mums, the other week will be spent at home, I would like to be able to get on top of the housework, tidy/clean everywhere, upstairs and down stairs! And hopefully squeeze in some quality time with DH :D Guality time = get him to help! :rotfl:

Hope DS has a nice birthday xx

Hi - my OH is a techie - so we are buying a new "box" (pc base unit tower) - with some special bits in like better graphics card, memory etc - and swapping over some bits from his old "box". Hopefully there will be enough left in the old box to give it DD for her birthday next year!

Well my credit card bills have arrived! Need to transfer as close to £4.6K as I can before 12 Jan. Can move £3K something to OH's card for 12 months but will have to move the rest to one of mine for only 6 months! All at 0% other than transfer fees. Don't want to apply for new credit as my job is too difficult to explain!

Want to start getting house straight today. Have put trainers back on as suddenly thought yesterday the pain in my knee getting worse could be because I had hardly worn them for a couple of days.... The GP did tell me to wear them in the house as well but I forgot! Have lost my phone somewhere in the mess LOL and my battery has died - so extra incentive to try and clear up a bit so I can find it. Cleaner not coming for a couple of weeks - which will save us some money but does mean it is all down to us to sort out!

    Some goals:

    Money related first
    1) [STRIKE]Transfer £4600 to 2 x 0% cards asap (and incur balance transfer fees) [/STRIKE]Transferred £2875 - paid off £200 - decided to leave rest and make priority to pay asap!
    2) [STRIKE]Take DS's cash and put it in the bank asap - so that we can pay off the CC we ordered his new computer on. Worried we will spend the cash otherwise[/STRIKE]3) [STRIKE]Plan a low cost grocery shop asap to minimise risk of takeaways or meals out![/STRIKE] Longer term need to cut all treats back out that we added in because it was xmas!!!
    4) Try and find new and more ways to make some extra money

    Job
    5) Start applying for new jobs as this one a) pays too little b) is too far away and c) doesn't even pay on time and d) eats up too much of my social and family time - thereby not fitting in with my life goals. Because of a and b - am currently able to pay off about £500 less a month than in previous jobs so this is not working for me at all

    House
    [STRIKE]6) Find phone[/STRIKE]
    7) [STRIKE]Clear garage - find homes for new big items from xmas like lovely fire pit!!! [/STRIKE](TWO load staken to tip)
    8) [STRIKE]Clean and tidy kitchen [/STRIKE]
    9) [STRIKE]Put clean clothes away from utility room, lounge [/STRIKE]and OH's study!!!!! nearly done most clothes now left study too
    10) [STRIKE]Hoover lounge asap[/STRIKE]
    11) Find homes for everything in lounge - consider giving surplus items to freecycle or charity - mostly done
    12) [STRIKE]Empty hall of surplus items[/STRIKE]
    13) OH to tidy his study - mostly done
    14) Me to tidy my study - find homes for things and freecyle or charity bag others - and ideally buy a new bed with xmas £ and get rid of DS's old one about 25% way there
    15) Help DD to find homes for her new toys and tidy her bedroom filled 1 bin bag and a charity bag, filled another bin bag, and another charity bag and given 4 carrier bags of stuff to friends
    16) [STRIKE]Help DS find homes for his possessions and tidy room and ideally clear some of the stuff into charity and bin bags[/STRIKE]
    17) Clear out and tidy our bedroom, hanging clothes up, making room for things etc - not even started

    Family
    18) Try and find ways of maximising family time and having fun and exercise together - doing some

OH thinks he may have cut up the card that I want to transfer some money to - so may have to wait for a new one - if that turns out to be true! Stupid man! OH Just broke something as well and then had the nerve to shout at me! GRrrrrrrrrr And he may have paid something on that card - limiting our ability to transfer. I wish he would keep things in his head. I have asked him not to use CCs and if necessary use my cashback one. He knew I needed to do a transfer in Jan - sometimes wonder where his brain is at!!!!!!

    3) [STRIKE]Plan a low cost grocery shop asap to minimise risk of takeaways or meals out![/STRIKE] Not sure it was that low cost in the end as bought DS's birthday cakes for the weekend and for his party - luckily I had a £30 gift card which I was able to use towards it

Did redeem £5 from bp - just hope it goes through ok!

    House
    [STRIKE]6) Find phone[/STRIKE]
    8) Clean and tidy kitchen - temporary improvements - packed and unpacked dishwasher about 3 times yesterday - unfortunately this is never ending lol!
    9) Put clean clothes away from utility room, lounge and OH's study!!!!! - made a start

    Family
    18) Try and find ways of maximising family time and having fun and exercise together
Managed some of no 18. We watched National Treasure book of secrets together - so that was some sit down family time together. OH has taken DS to see Avatar this afternoon so I am home alone with DD. Choices, choices.... could veg, could clear out lounge or make a start on her bedroom....

I know I should do her bedroom really - as she can't really enjoy her pressies with it being so messy! Right okay - just agree with her that that is what we will do. We have given her a CD music player today we have had for over a decade - mostly doing nothing - and she is delighted! Currently playing Leona Lewis one of DS's xmas presents - sounds pretty good!

I have even fed her - impressed with myself. I have had choc muffins for breakfast does that count?
